Abstract
The article focuses on a specificity of the modern transatlantic economic relations. The author examines a historical basis, analyzes an institutional component, observes the qualitative and quantitative indicators, and researches the prospects for partnership, including the transatlantic free trade area establishments. The economic factor plays a significant role in the development of international relations. It is a determinant in the process of choosing instruments and ways of cooperation and is verification of the transatlantic cooperation’s strength. The deepening of integration processes on the territory of Europe since the second half of the twentieth century, and establishing of the U.S. as a global leader formed the foundation of the modern transatlantic cooperation. The exploration of the economic component of the U.S.European relations provides an ability to search the most advanced approaches to unification of European countries for protecting the common interests, considering the fact that the United States is not only a strong ally, but also a worthy competitor in the international arena. The core set and achieved tasks of the scientific research are the followings: the comprehensive analysis of the transatlantic economic partnership; the determination of the U.S. and EU economies relationship; the observation of the mutual trade exchange of both powers indicators; and the assessment of the transatlantic free trade area creation prospects.
