On the Significance of Zen Buddhism's Objection to Religion Secularization in the Intellectual History of China

Abstract

Zen is the richest sect of Buddhism with Chinese characteristics, the generation of Zen also appear important to the development of China's religious divide, that "teaching down", the separate so-called "teaching under Biography" and "cases" and "teaching" the differentiation . Chinese Zen "purpose" embodies the "aloof" and "Tomohiro letter" two points, the aim of anti-religious secularism. Zen in general, this idea of religion in China has created a unique spirit, for us today to deepen the understanding of religion is still a certain revelation. Zen Buddhism as one of branches of Buddhism with Chinese characteristics showed an important differentiation of China religions which a new "branch" was founded and differentiated under a religion. The objectives of Zen Buddhism could be epitomized two points as "To stand all alone against the world outside "and" To open trust with wisdom "to object to religion secularization. To some degree, it is significant to contribute to the characteristics of Chinese religions and is helpful for us to increase our knowledge on religions
