    On the Difficulty of Being a National Liberal in Nineteenth-Century Finland.Jussi Kurunmäki - 2013 - Contributions to the History of Concepts 8 (2):83-95.
    This article examines the ways in which the Finnish liberals described themselves as national liberals and how they were labeled by their opponents as supporters of foreign doctrines and cosmopolitanism in the late nineteenth century. It will be shown that the rhetoric of liberalism was entangled in an inflamed issue between the advocates of Finnish and Swedish languages in Finland.
