    This article discusses the results of the technological study of the pottery from the recently excavated Middle Neolithic site of Makri, in Thrace. The analysis is based on macroscopic study of the material, microscopic examination of thin sections and a refî- ring test. The various fabric groups used for the manufacture of the vessels are presented and questions concerning the différent fabric groups, the addition of temper and refining of clay, are discussed.
