Lenin's work "On the Significance of Militant Materialism," written in the spring of 1922, is justly regarded as the philosophical testament of our leader. In it, the tasks of the day were merged with the tasks of the entire epoch on the basis of a profound analysis of reality.

Resolution of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences on the Basic Direction of Research Work and Projects of the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy of Sciences, November 27, 1969.M. V. Keldysh & Ia V. Pieve - 1970 - Russian Studies in Philosophy 9 (2):190-198.
The transition from capitalism to socialism that is taking place in our epoch confronts the science of philosophy with the problem of theoretical analysis of the dialectics of contemporary social development and of progress in science and technology. Taking into consideration the fact that the process of social change is occurring under conditions of exacerbation of the ideological struggle of the forces of socialism and capitalism, Marxist philosophers face as their most important project a deep-going, comprehensive critique of current bourgeois (...)

The Influence of Dostoevsky on the Creative Work of A. A. Ukhtomskii.V. L. Merkulov - 1972 - Russian Studies in Philosophy 11 (2):195-206.
The scientific career of the outstanding Russian physiologist A. A. Ukhtomskii was complex and full of contradictions. A descendant of Prince Vsevolod Big Nest [Bol'shoe Gnezdo] of Suzdal', he was strongly influenced by the traditions and legends of his caste. As a juvenile he was sent to the Nizhnii Novgorod Corps of Cadets where he developed a profound interest in philosophy, psychology, history, and literature. His fellow cadets of the same age were amazed at, and sometimes ridiculed the young Ukhtomskii's (...)

Grigorii Savvich Skovoroda was a distinguished philosopher of the eighteenth century Ukraine who made a significant contribution to the development of philosophical thought and enlightenment ideas. A contemporary of N. I. Novikov, Ia. P. Kozel'skii, and A. I. Radishchev, he reflected in his work the protest of the laboring peasant masses against serfdom. This protest was the starting point for his philosophical interpretation of the world, man, problems of social justice, and the paths along which they could be resolved. Representing (...)

    Cosmological Constraints from Low-Redshift Data.Vladimir V. Luković, Balakrishna S. Haridasu & Nicola Vittorio - 2018 - Foundations of Physics 48 (10):1446-1485.
In this paper we summarise the constraints that low-redshift data—such as supernovae Ia, baryon acoustic oscillations and cosmic chronometers —are able to set on the concordance model and its extensions, as well as on inhomogeneous but isotropic models. We provide a broad overlook into these cosmological scenarios and several aspects of data analysis. In particular, we review a number of systematic issues of SN Ia analysis that include magnitude correction techniques, selection bias and their influence on the inferred cosmological constraints. Popular Authority in Euripides’ Iphigenia in Aulis.Brian V. Lush - 2015 - American Journal of Philology 136 (2):207-242.
Iphigenia in Aulis ( IA ) raises important doubts about popular authority by dramatizing the Achaean army’s imposition of parthenic sacrifice. The numerous vacillations of the elites represented in IA ’s dialogue provide an axis along which the distribution of power in Aulis can be assessed, and the play’s many reversals serve to highlight their lack of agency and their forced participation in troubling ritual violence. In the context of this dramatic formulation of power, the play’s aristocratic personae must either (...)

Nikolai Fedorovich Fedorov is one of the most original and as yet inadequately studied Russian thinkers. Neither a professional philosopher, nor a well-known scholar, nor a critical essayist, he led a kind of double existence while working as an ordinary civil servant, developing his original philosophy at his leisure in the hours free from his intensive daily work. Fedorov's life was one of selflessness and self-denial, not at all eventful outwardly. He graduated from the Gymnasium in Tambov and completed three (...)

    P. Ia. Chaadaev continues to attract the attention of researchers of Russian thought. Some recent publications in our press justify the assertion that scholars are interested not only in this or that side of the views of "the philosopher of Basmannaia Street" but also in the very character of his mentality and its place in the history of Russian philosophical thought. Thus, Viacheslav Vsevolodovich Ivanov writes in his article "Chaadaev-Our Contemporary" [Chaadaev-nash sovremennik] : "There are several reasons why Chaadaev is (...)

The two main technical novelties are a third switching position for the non-commutative disjunction, and the structure of order variety.
