Kim, Ellen, and Zack's Big Adventure ‐ lesbian mothers raising a boy steeped in masculinity foster family being elastic, fun, and experimental ‐ than the one, one grew up in Zack's sensitivity ‐ aware of his femininity in his friends of both genders, in varying degrees Zack's friend at preschool ‐ son of an artist, driven to draw anything and everything he could gay people ‐ rejecting notions, that we are exactly like our heterosexual counterparts as parents most black males, bombarded in early childhood ‐ that they are inhabiting an all‐powerful universe African‐American son, and the racism specter ‐ much more overwhelming males of his Depression era generation ‐ a deafening silence, on virtually all issues societal and political forces ‐ undeniable and overwhelming at times, and force of biology
