Abstract

There is considerable critical literature on information technologies, algorithms, big data and artificial intelligence. It emphasizes how such tools have enabled the development of new forms of power and control over individuals. However, it is also necessary to think about the new alternatives of collective emancipation that they allow. Thus, for example, the concepts of e-democracy, cyberdemocracy, wikidemocracy, digital communism and cybercommunism have been proposed. The aim of this article is, therefore, to discuss the above concepts in order to foresee possible emancipatory uses of these concepts.
