A discussion on law of double jeopardy in india

Abstract

This paper traces the shifting contours of double jeopardy in India and how it evolved from procedural criminal law top being a constitutional right. The paper would have in-depth analysis of judicial pronouncements on the limits and boundaries of doctrine of double jeopardy and would try to sensitize readers alien to Indian laws on the variations present in Indian system in this near universal doctrine that a man should not be punished twice for one crime.
