Abstract

Resumo: Imbuído da noção schopenhaueriana de vontade, Nietzsche analisa a cultura grega em vista da capacidade dos gregos para criar a tragédia como transfiguração da dor da existência. Seus escritos estéticos, contudo, não trataram somente da arte grega: o Estado já era objeto de ocupação de Nietzsche desde O nascimento da tragédia. Quando pensa o Estado grego, ele já elabora suas primeiras críticas ao Estado moderno. A racionalidade, estendida à forma de compreender o Estado, não possibilita, para Nietzsche, reconhecer os ardis desse instrumento da natureza entre os homens para produção de forma e beleza. O Estado burguês moderno, à medida que tem por tarefa o cessar a guerra de todos contra todos, a proteção da vida e do processo de acúmulo de riquezas, impede a geração de grandes indivíduos e se torna, portanto, empecilho para a elaboração de cultura.Palavras-chave: cultura - tragédia - estado - racionalidade.: Imbued of the schopenhauerian notion of will, Nietzsche analyzes the Greek culture keeping in sight the Greeks' capacity to create the tragedy as a way to transfigure the pain of existence. Nietzsche states that rationality, applied to the understanding of State, does not show clearly the ingeniousness of this instrument of nature, whose aim is to produce form and beauty among men. The bourgeois modern state, pursuing the goals of ceasing the war of everybody against everybody, protecting every individual's life and the process of accumulation of wealth, obstructs the generation of great individuals and becomes, therefore, an obstacle to the elaboration of culture
