Abstract

In this paper, the traditional Chinese philosophy of anti-intellectualism in the tendency shown by the cognitive characteristics, Confucianism and Taoism through the core of the concept of "Tao" of the resolution, Confucianism and Taoism on the "Road" means a discussion and description of cognitive and anti-intellectualism tend to explore the causes, pointing out that the traditional Chinese philosophy of anti-intellectualism tend Although cognitive ability is based on rational knowledge above, but with anti-intellectual tendency on the Chinese philosophy itself is not concerned about the direction of the theory of knowledge, and is the theory of value; Chinese philosophy were敎position is not theology, but the people. This paper is an attempt to analyze the anti-intellectual tradition in Chinese Philosophy by studying the concept of "Dao" in both Confucianism and Daoism. The analysis of "Dao" and its subsequent studies on the cause of the anti-intellectual tendencies in Chinese Philosophy, shows that this anti-intellectual attitude, even though directed against epistemolgoy, was in reality an attack on value theory. Chinese Philosophy is not grounded on a philosophy of religion, but on humanism
