Abstract

This chapter examines the influence of Soren Kierkegaard on modern European literature. It suggests that Kierkegaard's contribution to the formation of a linguistic and aesthetic norm was represented by three of his most literary works: Either/Or, Prefaces, and Stages on Life's Way. The chapter also analyses the works of European authors who derived inspiration from Kierkegaard's ideas and those authors who drew their material from his historical existence.
