Abstract
The basic aim of this paper is to show that philosophy is not what it is natural to take it to be, I.E., A high-Order investigation of what there is. It is contended that behind the superficial appearance they present, Philosophical utterances have no truth-Value and do nothing more than advance emended nomenclature. To illustrate this general thesis about philosophy hume's view that causal connection is nothing more than constant conjunction is examined in some detail, The conclusion reached being that the view introduces a causal vocabulary from which the term "dependent occurrence" and its equivalents have been suppressed
