Abstract

The work focuses on the analysis of some characteristics of the cyberpunk literature. This type of literature became popular especially in the 80’s and it was considered a new direction of SF literature. The main concern of this study is pointing out the defining traits of the cyberpunk literature and its main representatives. Another concern of this work is the analysis of two Romanian contemporary cyberpunk novels – Florina Iliş’s “Five painted clouds on the eastern sky” and Bogdan Suceava’s “Vincent the Immortal”. The main aspects of the work highlight the elements of the cyberpunk imaginary and the desacralized character of the recovered myths.
