Abstract

This chapter talks about the symbols used in the diplomatic transcriptions that are described in the other chapters of the book. The symbols used are divided into three categories: corrections, deletion marks and underlinings. Some of the corrections that are made are insertion of a space between two words and text overwritten by hand on an erased typed text. The deletion marks like single deletion mark, double or multiple deletion mark are used. The underlines like dash, single, double, wavy and double wavy underlines are used.
