Ziel dieser kleinen, 1492 abgefaßten und für das Verständnis der Renaissancephilosophie bedeutsamen Schrift ist der Nachweis der Vereinbarkeit der Grundlehren der platonischen und der aristotelischen Metaphysik, also die Herbeiführung der Entscheidung in einer zwischen den Neuplatonikern seiner Zeit und den Peripatetikern ausgetragenen Kontroverse, mit denen Pico in engem Kontakt stand. Der Traktat basiert auf der späteren kritischen Auseinandersetzung Picos mit seinem ehemaligen Lehrer Ficino und einer 1490 geführten, sehr intensiven Diskussion mit den beiden anderen.

We propose here the first translation into Portuguese of Giovanni Pico della Mirandola’s small treatise De Ente et Uno (1491). The translation is preceded by a brief presentation in which the work is contextualized within the scope of the thought of its young author and in the Florentine philosophical environment of the end of the Quattrocento. In the aftermath of the controversies between defenders of Plato and defenders of Aristotle, a quarrel brought by Greek and Byzantine intellectuals into (...) Italy, who exacerbated the differences between the two philosophers, there were also others who tried to show the essential concord between them, a purpose of which Pico’s treatise is one of the most expressive and relevant documents, seeking to prove the equivalence between Plato’s One and Aristotle’s Being. La dissertation sur Origène de Jean Pic de La Mirandole dans l'Apologia.--La dissertation sur Origène de Pierre Garcia dans les Déterminations magistrales.

This study represents an empirical, comprehensive investigation of two different inter-organisational collaborative approaches, offering a novel perspective on collaborative circular business models in the modern economy. In this vein, we explore how open innovation strategies foster the implementation of circular economy practices within a circular supply chain and a circular ecosystem. In addition, we identify and characterise stakeholders' roles in facilitating the translation of circular principles into a viable business. An inductive theorising approach was employed, leveraging an explorative multiple case (...) study methodology. Data were collected from 13 organisations involved in two collaborative networks, designed to establish upcycling practices to recover waste from the food and beverage industry. A critical realist philosophical positioning underpinned researchers' data collection and analysis. As a result, we outline the nature of two different collaborative approaches to pursue a regenerative production system through open innovation strategies: a circular supply chain and a circular ecosystem architecture. The characterisation of the coordinator and orchestrator of collaborative circular business models is also highlighted in our findings. In sum, this study contributes to the literature on circular economy by unveiling the role of open innovation in fostering circular business development. From a practical standpoint, it offers insights for managers of sustainability-oriented companies willing to implement upcycling practices. (shrink)

Instituciones políticas como la Comisión Europea y el Gobierno de España han manifestadosu interés y predisposición para sentar las bases de una gobernanza ética de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA). En particular, han planteado el impulso de una Inteligencia Artificial confiable a través de unconjunto de directrices y estrategias. A pesar del beneficio que reportan estas iniciativas políticas, no es posible apreciar en su conjunto una estrategia educativa específica que contribuya a la generación de un ecosistema ético de IA fundamentado en (...) la confianza. En ese sentido, el objetivo principal de este trabajo consiste en explicar que la enseñanza de la ética aplicada en los estudios de ingeniería constituye una apuesta para el fortalecimiento profesional, la gobernanza ética yuna investigación e innovación responsables. Para alcanzar este objetivo, en primer lugar, serándetallados algunos de los aspectos esenciales que dotan de un valor significativo a la enseñanza de la ética aplicada, subrayando la responsabilidad social que presentan las universidades en este terreno. En segundo lugar, se mostrará una clasificación de las asignaturas de ética relacionadas con la ingeniería en el entorno de las universidades públicas españolas. Y, en tercer lugar, se ofrecerá un marco teórico enraizado en la ética discursiva, promoviendo una mirada cívica en el contexto educativo de las profesiones. (shrink)

L'humanisme est-il cantonné dans la rhétorique? Ne peut-il avoir qu'un fondement métaphysique? Le recours aux Anciens est-il le signe d'un manque d'originalité? Jean Pic de la Mirandole (1463-1494), le plus grand philosophe de la Renaissance italienne, propose sa propre réponse, en inventant une nouvelle manière de penser l'essence de l'homme. Pour lui, la dignité de l'homme ne réside pas dans sa nature close, ou dans son statut de microcosme, mais dans l'exercice de sa liberté. Parce qu'il n'a rien en propre, (...) l'homme peut devenir toutes choses, et se définir lui-même par ses propres choix. Il est ainsi l'image de Dieu. L'étude des transcendantaux, le dépouillement des passions, l'interprétation de l'Ecriture et de toutes les sagesses culminent dans la béatitude, fruit d'une liberté humaine comblée par la générosité divine. L'humanisme s'inscrit alors dans un cadre théologique renouvelé : au-delà de la métaphysique, mais en dialogue avec elle. Dans son œuvre très cohérente, Pic atteste que la dignité de l'homme passe toutes les formes d'humanisme. Au lieu de contenir l'homme dans une définition ou dans une représentation, il le rend à sa liberté native. (shrink)

The origins of this book go back to I956 when it was suggested to me that a study on the philosophy of Gianfrancesco Pico della Mirandola would furnish an important addition to our knowledge of the philoso phy of the Italian Renaissance. It was not, however, until I960 that I could devote a significant portion of my time to a realization of this goal. My work was essentially completed in 1963, at which time it was presented in its (...) original form as a doctoral dissertation in the Phi losophy Department of Columbia University. Since then I have made many minor improvements and several chapters have been extensively reworked. This study represents the first attempt in fifty years to give a detailed account of even a portion of Gianfrancesco Pico's life and thought. The most comprehensive previous study, Gertrude Bramlette Richards, "Gianfrancesco Pico della lv1irandola" (Cornell University Dissertation, I 9 I 5), which I have found very useful in preparing my own book, is largely based on secondary literature and is mistaken in a number of details. Furthermore, Miss Richards' treatment of Gian francesco Pico as a thinker is very sketchy and is not an exhaustive study of his own writings. It is hoped that my present study, built in part on her extensive bibliographical indications, brings forth a certain amount of new information which will be of value for further research. (shrink)

O presente artigo objetiva, ao revisitar a obra Oratio de hominis dignitate composta pelo humanista renascentista Giovanni Pico Della Mirandola, um duplo intento: sustentar que as noções de dignidade e liberdade, presentes nessa obra, se distanciam do pensamento cristão tradicional, de modo crítico, justamente porque derivam de uma leitura filosófica da teologia cristã da criação; e mostrar que a conclusão a respeito da noção de liberdade apresentada por Sartre no pensamento contemporâneo pode ser encontrada de modo germinal, guardada (...) as devidas proporções, na leitura piquiana da criação. Para tanto, exporemos uma breve retomada do contexto histórico-filosófico que permitiu ao filósofo engendrar a Oratio bem como suas pretensões para com essa obra; falaremos, em um segundo momento, como o platonismo religioso de Marsílio Ficino, principal matriz teórica a partir do qual os conceitos de dignidade e de liberdade foram modulados, foi recebido e desenvolvido no pensamento de Pico; e como as influências e as rupturas com pensamento de Ficino e a leitura filosófica da teologia cristã da criação são importantes para recolocar os conceitos de dignidade e de liberdade, permitindo assim entrever, por meio deles, semelhanças com o pensamento satreano. This edition of Giovanni Pico della Mirandola’s “De ente et uno” (“On being and the one”) offers for the first time a key text for the reformation of metaphysics in Renaissance philosophy in German translation. The Latin text is added. The detailed introduction and careful commentary reveal the guiding points Pico has set with this work.

It is quite strange that a work whose author apparently deliberately avoided the term “human dignity” is today known under the title “Oration on the Dignity of Man”. In my contribution, I examine the extent to which the famous tract of Pico della Mirandola can be linked to the history of human dignity. This raises the fundamental question of what human dignity (for Pico) actually means. Pico’s famous text appears primarily as an ode to man’s capacity for transformation, (...) which his freedom grants him. The image of the chameleon used by Pico - which is idiosyncratic in the context of his time - highlights this. His concern is a freedom of philosophising that does not impose any prohibitions on thinking even when dealing with other religions and thus seems radical for Pico’s time. (shrink)

Se intenta en este trabajo caracterizar en sus razgos más salientes las morales de nuestro tiempo en relación, de modo particular, con el asunto de las necesidades. Para eso hemos entendido que es fundamental partir de una averiguación previa acerca de la dignidad humana a partir de las fórmulas renacentistas tal como las leemos en Picco della Mirándola y Fernán Peréz de Oliva.

El escrito se centra en el humanismo renacentista, con el objetivo de analizar los conceptos de dignidad y libertad en el De dignitate hominis (1486) de Pico della Mirándola. Si bien este texto se toma como paradigmático del giro antropológico humanista respecto de la Escolástica, con todo, creemos que dicha revalorización del hombre no se hace desde sí, sino desde Dios. Para ello analizaremos algunas de las “voces” que se hallan en Pico, como ser Zoroastro, Hermes, Duns Escoto, que (...) terminan por confluir en una concepción de dignidad humana fundada en la relación con Dios. En este trabajo presentamos la traducción del latín al español de la carta de Giovanni Pico della Mirandola a su amigo Andrea Corneo de Urbino con introducción y notas. En el texto, Pico expone sus puntos de vista respecto una de las cuestiones que tuvo en vilo a los intelectuales del siglo XV: la de la elección entre la vida activa y la contemplativa. La carta trata, además, del llamado "incidente de Arezzo", un confuso episodio en el que (...) el joven conde raptó a la esposa de Giuliano Mariotto de' Medici. A lo largo del texto Pico se revela como imitador de los autores clásicos latinos, entre ellos, Séneca, Horacio, Gelio, Plauto, Terencio y especialmente Cicerón. Tommaso Giannini was a prominent professor at the ferrarese Studium between sixteenth and seventeenth century. Probably influenced by Platonic sympathies nurtured by the Court and partly by the University milieu, in 1587 he published his first work titled De providentia ad sententiam Platonis et Platonicorum liber unus, which was a catalyst for his academic career. A compilative work in essence, the De providentia displays a large amount of sources always tacitly used: Marsilio Ficino, Jacques Charpentier, Giulio Serina, Stefano Tiepolo, Teofilo (...) Zimara, Bessarion, Agostino Steuco and amid the ancients Plotinus, Plutarcus, Sirianus, Proclus, Giamblicus, Apuleius, Calcidius, Ammonius, Psellus. A small place is reserved to Giovanni Pico della Mirandola and precisely to his Disputationes adversus astrologiam divinatricem. The aim of the paper is to provide a supplement of analysis of Giannini’s interest in Pico’s works considering his later writings, each one commonly identified as Disputationes Aristotelicae. Este trabajo se propone mostrar quela concepcíón de magia de Pico della Mírandola,de un lado, es la propia de un humanista; de otro,responde más de lo que se suele creer a llneastradicionales. Para ello, y después de determinarla significación precisa de algunos términos aemplear, en primer lugar, examina aspectos de laposición agustlniana sobre el tema. En segundotérmino, estudia el tratamiento de las tesis piquianasen tres etapas, constituídas por la Oratiocon las Conclusiones, la Apologia, y las Disput.ationes.En tercer lugar, refuta (...) la interpretaciónque ve en estas últimas una retractación de Picorespecto de sus primeras posiciones sobre lamagia. Por último, muestra que las divergenciasentre ambos autores obedecen, sobre todo, a unacuestión terminológica y de matices, destacando,no obstante la relevancia de éstos. (shrink)

Meine Untersuchung geht der Frage nach: Was verbindet philosophisch in der Sache die Oratio des Pico della Mirandola mit dem Kupferstich von Albrecht Dürer. Dabei leitet mich die Annahme, dass Pico und Dürer ihre Gemeinsamkeit hinter Decknamen und Chiffren verstecken. Indem ich ein Pico'sches Verfahren zur Erkenntnisgewinnung auf die Inschrift ,,MELENCOLIA § I" anwende, komme ich zu dem erstaunlichen Ergebnis, dass Dürer dem philosophischen Ansatz des Mirandolaners mehr verpflichtet ist, als man bislang nachzuweisen vermochte.

This article tackles the construction of an exemplary image of the modern man in the 15th century. The corpus is centered on a fundamental work in the history of Western thought: Oration on the Dignity of Man, by Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, which represents the “spirit of a period” and projects an exemplary image of the human being through the rewriting of the origin myth. The manner in which Adam was created and how that defines the new way (...) in which he is fashioned will be the basis for a new way of being, free from the doctrine of original sin and without seeing his capacities as a human being diminished. Through the analysis of this mythological reconstruction and also through modifications of the biblical account, several characteristics of the man about to come will be uncovered. Special attention will be given to the displacement suffered by man in relation to the world, as Pico establishes man as a contemplator of the universe, the consequences of the liberation from the scala naturae, and the prominence of desire in Pico’s conception of man.
