El presente trabajo trata de reconstruir la evolución diacrónica del análisis gramsciano de la Reforma y el Renacimiento tal y como este se entrecruza con una doble problemática: la revalorización de las abstracciones en la filosofía de la praxis y la constitución fallida de un Estado-nación moderno en la Italia del Siglo XVI. En la segunda parte, analizamos los aspectos lingüísticos del problema, centrándonos en el Proemio de Graziadio I. Ascoli, una fuente hasta hoy no estudiada de la cuestión de (...) la Reforma. A partir de ahí, ensayamos una lectura diacrónica en la que el abordaje gramsciano del "problema de la lengua" evoluciona de forma paralela a la revalorización de las abstracciones antes descrita. The traditional way of understanding life, as a self-appropriating and self-organizing process of not ceasing to exist, of taking care of one's own hunger, is challenged by today's unprecedented proliferation of discourses and techniques concerning the living being. This challenge entails questioning the fundamental concepts of metaphysical thinking--namely, time, finality, and, above all, being. Garrido argues that today we are in a position to repeat Nietzsche's assertion that there is no other representation of "being" than that of "living." But (...) in order to carry out this deconstruction of ontology, we need to find new ways of asking: What is life? In this study, Garrido establishes the basic elements of the question concerning life through readings of Aristotle, Nietzsche, Heidegger, and Derrida; through the discussion of scientific breakthroughs in thermodynamics and evolutionary and developmental biology; and through the reexamination of the notion of hunger in both its metaphysical and its political implications. ¿Cuál es el origen último de la religiosidad humana? En estas épocas de cientificismo e ilimitado pragmatismo, en estos días en los que Dios parece bien muerto y aún mejor enterrado ¿hay algún motivo sensato y legítimo para reconocer una dimensión religiosa de la existencia? ¿Y qué es lo que distingue una existencia auténticamente religiosa de aquella otra que cree serlo y, sin embargo, no lo es? ¿No son, acaso, el modo de orar y de realizar la propia vida en (...) la esfera ética, social y política lo que permite reconocer esa autenticidad? Estas preguntas fundamentales, tratadas en el contexto de la filosofía dialógica y de la fenomenología, movieron el pensamiento de uno de los filósofos de la religión más profundos de nuestros días: Bernhard Casper. Este libro le rinde homenaje al que durante tantos años dirigió la Cátedra de filosofía de la religión en la Universidad de Friburgo. Le rinde, ante todo, homenaje a la hospitalidad de su pensamiento, retomando aquellos interrogantes que han signado su obra. El tributo lo lleva a cabo un grupo de calificados especialistas, colegas y discípulos del propio Casper, de Europa y Argentina, bajo la dirección del Prof. Dr. Ángel E. Garrido-Maturano. Esta meditación quisiera enfatizar ese plus que parece potenciar la disposición afectiva para con la comprensión del Dasein, intentando atisbar, a partir de lo expreso mismo en la disposición afectiva y en tanto aporte no-apofántico, la posibilidad de tematización de la mismidad del Dasein, una mismidad entendida como posibilidad de recuperar una elección, a través de un acto comprensivoejecutivo llamado transparencia. El artículo se propone determinar el límite entre fenomenología y gnosis en la filosofía del cristianismo de M. Henry. Para ello analiza la cuestión del Archi-hijo en Soy yo la verdad, la de Archi-carne en Encarnación y la de la legitimación de las palabras que Cristo pronuncia sobre sí mismo en Palabras de Cristo. El análisis muestra, en primer lugar, en qué medida el tratamiento de estas tres cuestiones supera el límite estrictamente fenomenológico del pensamiento y remite a una gnosis (...) o experiencia de fe particular. En segundo lugar, explicita cómo, independientemente de esta gnosis, la intuición henryana acerca de la esencia de la vida abre un acceso fenomenológico genuino a la relación religiosa. (shrink)

ABSTRACT It is well-known that Artificial Intelligence requires Logic. But its Classical version shows too many insufficiencies. So, it is very necessary to introduce more sophisticated tools, as may be Fuzzy Logic, Modal Logic, Non-Monotonic Logic, and so on. When you are searching the possible precedent of such new ideas, we may found that they are not totally new, because some ancient thinkers have suggested many centuries ago similar concepts, certainly without adequate mathematical formulation, but in the same line: against (...) the dogmatism and the dualistic vision of the world: absolutely true vs. absolutely false, black vs. white, good or bad by nature, 0 vs.1, etc. We attempt to analyze here some of these greatly unexplored, and very interesting early origins. El artículo introduce la noción cosmológica de mundo de Eugen Fink. Para ello la distingue primero del mundo concebido como recipiente a partir del “ser en” el mundo de los entes cósicos. Luego la diferencia del mundo concebido como existenciario a partir del “ser en” el mundo del hombre. Posteriormente explicita el mundo cosmológico como unicidad, espacio-tiempo y movimiento ontogénico de individuación y aparición. La explicitación se orienta a poner de manifiesto el carácter originario del mundo cosmológico desde el punto (...) de vista trascendental. Finalmente analiza el fenómeno fundamental del juego como modelo operativo que reproduce el imperar del mundo en el ámbito intramundano y, sobre la base del análisis del juego, muestra en qué medida la noción cosmológica de mundo de Fink puede representar un punto común en el que se encuentren las cosmologías científicas y la visión religiosa del mundo. In this article, my purpose is to explore conversion in its onto-phenomenological structure. To this end, in the first section, I develop a notion of form of life as an ontological unit. That is, the totality of the possible actions of a subject according to the principle that drives him/her. In this way, the subject is the result of the actions that constitute the adopted form of life. In the second section, I hold that all conversion is precisely the passage (...) from one form of life to another triggered by a crisis, and that if this requirement is not met, neither is there a conversion. This makes it possible to reduce any type of conversion, whether religious, moral, or intellectual, to a single onto-phenomenological structure based on the form of life as an ontological unit. And it even allows for the analysis of other phenomena in terms of conversion, such as the passage from one social group to another. (shrink)

El artículo es una investigación introductoria de la filosofía de la educación de Jane Addams en los primeros años de actividad del settlement Hull-House. Esto incluye su etapa desde sus inicios en 1889 hasta el cambio político y epistemológico que experimentó Addams cuando se opuso firmemente a la participación bélica de los Estados Unidos a la Primera Guerra Mundial en 1917 y cuando se comprometió de forma sólida con el movimiento sufragista pacifista y la educación de las mujeres en los (...) años 20. El objetivo es examinar la crítica de Addams sobre los desajustes sociales que afectaban a la infancia y la adolescencia del Chicago de finales de siglo XIX: el “estado de insensibilidad estética,” la liberación del espacio doméstico y la corrupción política en las pandillas. En particular, el trabajo analiza la noción de educación socializada y su relación con la demanda de creación de espacios lúdicos públicos o pleasure grounds. Las actividades lúdicas y educativas organizadas en el parque infantil tenían un significado artístico, cultural y político que facilitaba la socialización de la democracia y la materialización de la reforma y el progreso lateral. The roots of the Lvov-Warsaw School can be traced back to Aristotle himself. But in later times we better put them into thinking GW Leibniz and who somehow inherited many of these ways of thinking, such as the philosopher and mathematician Bernhard Bolzano. Since he would pass the key figure of Franz Brentano, who had as one of his disciples to Kazimierz Twardowski, which starts with the brilliant Polish school of mathematics and philosophy dealt with. Among them, one of the (...) most interesting thinkers must be Jan Lukasiewicz, the father of many-valued logic.Jan Łukasiewicz began teaching at the University of Lvov, and then at Warsaw, but after World War II must to continue in Dublin. Some questions may be very astonishing in the CV of Łukasiewicz. For instance, that a firstly Polish Minister of Education in Paderewski cabinet, into the new Polish Republic, and also Rector for two times at Warsaw University, was awarded with a Doctorate ‘Honoris Causa’ in spring 1936, at University of Münster, into the maximum of effervescency of Nazism in Germany. The explanation must be their good relation with a very good friend, the former theologian, and then logician, Heinrich Schölz, who was the first Chairman of Mathematical Logic in German universities.Łukasiewicz firstly studied Law, and then Mathematics and Philosophy in Lvov. His doctoral supervisor was Kazimierz Twardowski, and in 1902 he obtain his Ph. D. title with a very special mention: ‘sub auspiciis Imperatoris’. Also he received a doctorate ring with diamonds from the Kaiser of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Franz Joseph I.From 1902, Łukasiewicz was employed as a private teacher, and also as a desk in the Universitary Library of Lvov. So it was until 1904 when he obtained a scholarship to study abroad. He defends his ‘Habilitationschrift’ in 1906, entitled “Analysis and construction of the concept of cause”. This permits to give university courses. His first lectures were on the Algebra of Logic, according to the recent translation to Polish of this book of the French logician Louis Couturat.Between 1902 and 1906, Lukasiewicz continued his studies in the universities of Berlin and Leuwen. In 1906, by his ‘Habilitationschrift’, he obtain the qualification as university professor at Lvov. And the, in 1911, he was appointed as associate professor in his ‘alma mater’.Jan Łukasiewicz was also very active in historical research on logic, giving a new and up-to-date interpretation of Aristotle’s syllogism and of the Stoics’ propositional calculus. According to Scholz, the better pages on history of logic are due to him. And also, as Arianna Betti says, “Jan Lukasiewicz is first and foremost associated with the rejection of the Principle of Bivalence and the discovery of Many-Valued Logic.”The discovery of MVL by Lukasiewicz was in 1918, a little earlier than Emil Leon Post. According to Jan Wolenski, “although Post’s remarks were parenthetical and extremely condensed, Lukasiewicz explained his intuitions and motivations carefully and at length. He was guided by considerations about future contingents and the concept of possibility”. So, he introduces, firstly, three-valued logic, then four-valued logic, generalized to logics with an arbitrary finite number of veritative values, and finally, to logics with a countably infinite-valued number of such values.Very noteworthy is his treatment of the history of logic in the light of the new formal logic. Thus, not only he addressed the issue of future contingents departing from Aristotle, but also put in value logic of the Stoics, at least so far taken. In fact, Heinrich Scholz said, rightly, that Lukasiewicz had written the most lucid pages on the history of logic. (shrink)

Partiendo de un pasaje de una obra de Shakespeare, se revisará el papel de la fidelidad en la configuración de la identidad personal. el artículo se centra en dos tendencias principales en la concepción de la misma, enraizadas en la comprensión narrativa del yo: la fidelidad como permanencia frente al cambio y la fidelidad como apertura y avance hacia aquello que hace ser, que da unidad y sentido. Pero el yo se descubre en ambos casos dividido, necesitado de narrar para (...) ser, luchando con el tiempo, ya se presente como amenaza o como obstáculo para ser uno y distinto. la alternativa que aquí se propone consiste en una fidelidad como retorno a lo esencial, donde el ser y la unidad del yo permanecen, en tanto que éste se abre a la novedad de aquéllo fundamental. dicha apertura consiste básicamente en un diálogo, en el cual el yo recibe y entrega lo propio, poniendo en juego su ser en el espacio dramático, actualizando así cada vez el yo, su unidad y su sentido. The article explains the extent in which, in Kierkegaard’s thought, the genesis of Eros has a significance that is at once aesthetic and religious. It then restates the meaning of the aesthetic and the religious, and shows how the intensity with which both dimensions are experienced blends them in matrimony. The article then goes on to redefine the concept of matrimony on the basis of a hermeneutics of the notion of resolution. Finally, it specifies hope as the ultimate meaning of (...) the conjunction of the aesthetic and the religious in Eros. (shrink)

Why do we act as we do? Why do we assume that the way of being and behaving in our community is right, good, and common sense? Why do we fail to understand those who are, act, and feel differently? These are some of the questions that this book raises and attempts to answer. This ontology is rooted in the phenomenological tradition but with the innovation of taking the "form of life" as the central ontological unit. We are our form (...) of life, but, as a transcendental-immanent reality, this is not directly equivalent to culture or society; it is rather the "political" realisation in the world of an image of the human being shared by a given community. This overcomes the traditional dualities of individual and society, consciousness and body, facticity and freedom, actuality and possibility. The subject is a subject because it identifies with that image, which is equivalent to the intersubjective consciousness of how one should act and be in the world. This gives rise to multiple forms of life. The latter implies a certain power to be who one wants to be. In this way, the book is an invitation to self-examination, for if our form of life is voluntary (i.e., capitalism), it shatters the illusion that one cannot live in any other way, and places us before the anguished but inevitable task of justifying its adoption or resorting to its abandonment. The book offers a dynamic analysis of human existence as the actualisation of a form of life that is, at the same time, the exercise of a certain power over those who seek to live otherwise, especially when that form is institutionalised by a government as the essence of the national or transnational community. This article carries out a systematic exposition of the concept of the body in Jean-Luc Nancy, with all the risks of reduction that such an exposition entails. First it is necessary to return to Western philosophy’s founding text on living corporality, that is, Aristotle’s treatise on the soul. The oppositions that can be established between the Greek thinker’s psyche (soul) and Nancy’s dead Psyche are not so radical as may at first be thought: In both it is a question of (...) thinking the soul as the difference, the retreat or departure in which the exposition of bodies consists. The article continues with an analysis of touch and the self and concludes with an elaboration of the idea of the body within the general program of the deconstruction of Christianity. (shrink)

El artículo presenta los principales estudios de Juan Carlos Rodríguez (1993, 2017), Fredric Jameson (2013, 2015) y Bolívar Echeverría (1996, 1998) que abordan el surgimiento de la modernidad, su impacto en la esfera de la cultura y la subsiguiente constitución de un tipo específico de individualidad. A partir de ciertos conceptos clave, aquellos ofrecen una explicación de las relaciones entre la economía de mercado que empieza a surgir en la transición que va del feudalismo al capitalismo y ciertas disposiciones que (...) aparecen en determinados productos culturales y comienzan a considerar al individuo como un sujeto que se autodetermina libremente, lo que da cuenta del hecho de que la ideología manifiesta un carácter constructivo. Analizando similitudes y diferencias, el texto propone una lectura complementaria de todos ellos argumentando que hacen referencia, de formas originales, a un fenómeno común. (shrink)

Forms of Life and Subjectivity: Rethinking Sartre's Philosophy explores the fundamental question of why we act as we do. Informed by an ontological and phenomenological approach, and building mainly, but not exclusively, on the thought of Sartre, Daniel Rueda Garrido considers the concept of a ""form of life"" as a term that bridges the gap between subjective identity and communities.

The article analyzes, from a phenomenological-hermeneutic standpoint, three aspects of Kierkegaard’s views on existence: existence as freedom and becoming, existence as relation to an absolute telos, and existence as acceptance of one’s own being. The purposes of the analysis are twofold. First, it aims to show that existence, being a self-election and as such a finite action, consummates itself, paradoxically, as a passion for infinitude and obedience to the Absolute. Second, it attempts to explain the two fundamental dimensions of obedience: (...) the immanent dimension as assent to the pathos that moves our existence, and the transcendent dimension as the acceptance of our dependence on an uncertain and unattainable Absolute. Four types of truth can be distinguished in scientific knowledge: local truths, truths by definition, mathematical truths and empirical truths. These types are strongly interrelated: empirical theories use the four types; mathematical theories are concerned only with the first three clases, whereas logical theories contain just logical truths and definitions. Those relationships allow to classify the types of truth from two viewpoints concerning, respectively, their degree of abstraction and their relative power. Primero el artículo analiza críticamente la interpretación de la filosofía levinasiana como un palimpsesto que trascribe al lenguaje del logos la experiencia religiosa judía. Luego muestra cómo el ideal descriptivo y las nociones fenomenológicas de intencionalidad, sensibilidad y subjetividad constituyen el punto de partida y la inspiración filosófica originaria de Levinas. Finalmente precisa en qué sentido aquellos rasgos del pensamiento levinasiano que trascienden la fenomenología son conciliables con el presupuesto fundamental de la fenomenología misma.
