O fato é que não são comuns as reflexões acerca da relação entre a filosofia de Kant e a de Gadamer. Além disso, o posicionamento de Gadamer em relação ao racionalismo bem como observações de comentadores, compõem uma imagem que o qualifica como crítico contundente da filosofia kantiana. Porém, um olhar mais cuidadoso, nos mostra que Gadamer foi um intérprete de Kant que incorpora em seu projeto temas de ordem estética e ética. Basta um olhar sobre sua análise e as (...) remissões à Crítica do Juízo para nos revelar que ela é uma chave fundamental da sua hermenêutica filosófica. Dito isso, objetivamos aqui explicitar, compreender e propor uma reflexão acerca da leitura estético-moral que Gadamer realizou sobre um aspecto da filosofia de Kant. Faremos isso no intuito de avançarmos nos estudos da relação Kant-Gadamer de modo a precisar a própria natureza constitutiva daquilo que Gadamer veio a designar como hermenêutica filosófica. Para levarmos a bom termo nosso propósito, articularemos nossa reflexão a partir de uma análise e reconstrução da leitura gadameriana da terceira Crítica seguida de considerações e implicações sobre o significado desta leitura para a constituição da hermenêutica filosófica. Background With increased emphasis on healthcare transparency, parents are increasingly asking to be present for procedures performed on their children, especially in high-acuity contexts like care of children with congenital heart disease (CHD), where procedures may inform critical care decisions. In addition, observations of complex care may better communicate clinical knowledge and benefit grieving after adverse events. We examined clinicians’ views on current family presence (FP) efforts and on the expansion of FP to include the observation of operative procedures.Methods This (...) is a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews and content analysis within a pediatric heart center. Participants included perioperative and ICU nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, and child life specialists. Interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using inductive content analysis.Results Twenty provider interviews were conducted; 70% had less than 10 years of experience, with 30% having between 10 and 20 years; 50% were physicians who work in procedural environments; 25% were nurses; 15% were advanced practice providers; 10% were child-life specialists. Four categories emerged: (1) positive impact of FP, (2) negative impact of FP, (3) limitations to achieving FP, and (4) policies and procedures for FP.Conclusion Participants reported that current FP uses reduce patient anxiety and improve patient safety, family understanding of clinical decisions, and coping. Drawbacks include parental interference in care, lack of protocols to guide FP, increased family/staff anxiety, lack of staff resources to support FP, and potential access limitations for diverse populations. Participants anticipated that these problems would occur with the expansion to intraoperative FP. (shrink)

History and the Paradoxes of Metaphysics in Dantons Tod is the first in-depth analysis exploring the dynamic relationship between Hegelian metaphysics and Georg Büchner's literary masterpiece. This study illuminates the fascinating paradoxes emerging from Büchner's portrayal of the collision of historical reality with the monumental concept of freedom developed in the monistic idealism of Hegel. It also brings to light much-neglected interconnections between Büchner's Hegelian reading of Spinoza and his theories on nature and history.

In this article we analyze Georg Büchner’s tragedy ‘Danton’s Death‘ on the basis of implementation of double idealization principle as meaning- and structure-forming item of the text. It is proved that the principle of double idealization is connected with the antiquity; from the one hand, Ancient Greece comes out as a self-sufficient timeless ideal, opposed to the temporal ideal of Ancient Rome in the Republic period; on the other hand, the double idealization principle can be considered as a method (...) applied during the formation of the new (in the historical context) ideal.
