Religion, Politics and Literature in Bartolomeu Valeriu Anania's Work.Nicolae Turcan - 2011 - Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies 10 (29):159-181.
The personality of Metropolitan Bartolomeu Valeriu Anania has been extremely complex, first of all due to the various domains of his work - literature, essays, art history, theology and biblical theology -, and secondly due to his relation to politics, especially his connections with the Legionary Movement and with Communism. Despite having been incarcerated as a political prisoner in some of Bolshevik Romania's famous prisons (Jilava, Pitești, Aiud), Bartolomeu Valeriu Anania is still accused of having collaborated (...)

The Schengen Space and the Primary Form of the European Legal Humanism. Revisiting Tony Honoré’s Opus, Ulpianus. Pioneer of Human Rights.Valeriu Ciucă - 2016 - Human and Social Studies 5 (2):23-39.
The author proposes here “the first Romanian attempt at a hermeneutic systematization of the philosophy of European law”, a field that is approached from an organic, integrating perspective. It has to be seen as a synchronic lectio magistralis on the ineluctable role of the spiritual roots when deciphering and assuming national identity. The complicated “euronomosophical” discourse, whose beginning is an excellent page of self-history about the “Europe” of the author, voices an appeal to a deeper self-knowledge. A complex, dynamic reality: (...)

Materialism and life satisfaction. A sociological and Christian comparative approach.Valeriu Frunzaru & Elena Monica Frunzaru - 2017 - Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies 16 (48):31-45.
This paper discusses the similarities and differences between sociological and Christian approaches regarding the relationship between materialism and life satisfaction. The theoretical analysis gives reasons that advocate the view that there are resemblances between the two perspectives regarding materialism features and the impact of these values on life satisfaction. Both approaches argue for a less materialistic way of life in order to become generally happier. Nevertheless, if science gives research-based proofs to this relationship, Christianity states that worship of God, and (...)

  11. History - Folklore - Literature: the Example of Romania.Valeriu Râpeanu - 1979 - Diogenes 27 (106):41-53.
The beginnings of modern Romanian culture coincide with the discovery of folk literature. The first to benefit from this true “revelation,” around the middle of the last century, were two of the most authentic representatives of Romanian romanticism: Vasile Alecsandri and Alecu Russo. However, the earliest manifesto of Romanian romanticism was not very explicit in its treatment of the subject, because others who participated in the current—especially Mihail Kogălniceanu and Nicolae Bălcescu— were primarily historians. In 1840 the contensts of Dacia (...)

Representando fenômenos emergentes.William Ananias Vallerio Dias - 2022 - Principia: An International Journal of Epistemology 26 (1):153-171.

  14. Pope Benedict XVI: Democracy and Political Myths.Teodor-Valeriu Nedelea & Jean Nedelea - 2018 - Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies 17 (49):75-89.
The present paper starts from the postulate that religion in general, and Christianity in particular, has had and continues to have a significant role in political debates and in the structuring of the public arena. Expounding – in the context of “God’s return” into the life of postsecular society – the vision of the famous theologian Joseph Ratzinger on democracy and its opponents, this paper also dwells on the manifestations of irrationality in secular religions. Finding its theoretical grounds in myths (...)

    Vaccine-related conspiracy and counter-conspiracy narratives. Silencing effects.Nicoleta Corbu, Raluca Buturoiu, Valeriu Frunzaru & Gabriela Guiu - 2024 - Communications 49 (2):339-360.
Recent research explores the high proliferation of conspiracy theories about COVID-19 vaccination, and their potential effects within digital media environments. By means of a 2 × 2 experimental design (N = 945) conducted in Romania, we explore whether exposure to media messages promoting conspiracy theories about vaccination versus media messages debunking such conspiracy narratives could influence people’s intention to either support or argue against vaccination in front of their friends and family (interpersonal influence). We also analyze the moderation effects of (...)

  18. Entropy of Polysemantic Words for the Same Part of Speech.Mihaela Colhon, Florentin Smarandache & Dan Valeriu Voinea - unknown
In this paper, a special type of polysemantic words, that is, words with multiple meanings for the same part of speech, are analyzed under the name of neutrosophic words. These words represent the most dif cult cases for the disambiguation algorithms as they represent the most ambiguous natural language utterances. For approximate their meanings, we developed a semantic representation framework made by means of concepts from neutrosophic theory and entropy measure in which we incorporate sense related data. We show the (...)

The Benefit of a Punitive God: The Story od Ananias and Sapphira.A. Jerry Bruce & Marsha J. Harman - 2017 - Philosophy Study 7 (1).
In this narrative, we explore the story of Ananias and Sapphira from the book of Acts in the Christian scriptures. We examine the story in the light of a recent book by Dominic Johnson, God Is Watching You, and other related research. The idea of a punitive God and/or the belief in a punitive God may have significant effects on group functioning. The troubling story of Ananias and Sapphira may be seen as a central cog in the cooperative coming together (...)
