Abstract

This article discusses the magazine La Violeta (1862-1864), one of the most interesting publications of the Spanish 19th century, highlighting its formal aspects and journalistic merits. The article also covers the contributors, contents and evolution with reference to the significant role played by La Violeta and by her editor Faustina Sáez de Melgar in women’s education.
