Abstract

The main goal of this study is to ascertain the level of knowledge that university library staff members who work in the RSU and IAUE libraries possess in regards to digital technology. This investigation was predicated on a set of research questions as well as two hypotheses that were provided in order to explain the data that was collected. The researchers used a correlational survey design and a census sample technique to assemble their findings. This was necessary due to the fact that the population of the study consisted of 32 librarians working at RSU and IAUE. Using Cronbach's alpha, which suggested a value of 0.75 for the ability to measure digital literacy and a value of 0.82 for the ability to assess work performance, we were able to establish that the questionnaire was reliable. In order to put the hypotheses to the test at a significance level of 0.05, the product-moment correlation coefficient that was created by Pearson was utilized. The researchers recommend that the library staff at state university libraries in Rivers State should continue to leverage the usage of computers in order to be able to navigate around toolbars, use computer applications, and locate information that is pertinent to their work. This will aid in facilitating the performance that they have at work. The staff members who work in the libraries of Rivers' public universities should make better use of their research skills.
