Abstract

"Yao-hou-huo-de" means emperors of the Han Dynasty are Yao's descendants and that the Han's attribute is fire as Yao's. The theory was originally made to proof Han Dynasty's "orthodox". Contrary to the rulers'expectations, this proposition , instead of defending imperial's power, functioned as a catalyst of breaking up the empire at the end of West Han and East Han because of some careerists' transplanting and exploiting. Both Wang Mang and Cao Pi made use of the proposition of yao-hou- huo-de and forced emperors of Han to demise the crown to them, thus accomplishing the process of earth replacing fire
