Il problema filosofico di Boezio, già chiaro sin dalla comparsa sulla scena di Filosofia, risiede nel tentativo di chiarire come si possano avere conoscenze stabili, cioè necessarie, di cose mutevoli, cioè contingenti, ed è un problema di coesistenza tra le une e le altre. Una lettura filosofica che, trasposta in termini teologici, porta a questa idea di creazione: un mondo contingente creato da un Dio, in sé necessario, che nel momento in cui crea lo fa in relazione ai suoi (...) modi di conoscere, cioè necessitando in modo condizionato le cose esistenti. In tal modo, egli fonda la nostra conoscenza del mondo e quella di noi stessi che il mondo vediamo, pensiamo e giudichiamo mentre vediamo, pensiamo e giudichiamo di vedere, pensare e giudicare il mondo.La storia della Consolatio Philosophiae è la storia tragica di quell’ipotetico generale, di cui scrive Musil, che per ragioni strategiche manda dei battaglioni alla morte sicura, ed è un assassino se si pensa che si tratta di migliaia di figli di mamma; ma diventa subito qualcos’altro se si connette il fatto con altri pensieri, per esempio con la necessità del sacrificio o la brevità della vita. È poi la storia tragica della presa d’atto di quanto sia utile ma falso il tentativo di chi considera la vita che si presenta dinnanzi come un dato fisso e fermo. E lo è perché è la contemporanea storia del tragico tentativo di fondare il pensiero sul mondo a partire dalla consapevolezza che il mondo potrebbe mutare in ogni istante in tutte le direzioni, o almeno in una qualunque di esse. Luciano Berio apre il suo testamento poetico, Un ricordo al futuro, con un esplicito rinvio alla tripartizione della musica operata da Boezio e durante la discussione di specifiche tematiche della musica contemporanea vi torna a più riprese. Il presente lavoro intende indagare i motivi per un tale coinvolgimento dell’autore medievale nella ricerca poetica ed estetica di uno dei più importanti rappresentanti del mondo musicale novecentesco nonché il modo in cui la teoria di Boezio viene attualizzata da Berio. Si (...) scoprirà che i problemi della musica del Novecento richiedono una profonda riflessione filosofica la quale però non può limitarsi alla sola componente teoretica e astratta, se non vuole perdere di vista la musica, e che non può limitarsi alle sole pratiche musicali se non vuole rinunciare alla propria autocoscienza. In questo senso Berio reinterpreta i tre tipi di musica, mundana, humana ed intrumentalis nella concezione boeziana per confrontarsi non solo con il grande problema del rapporto tra teoria e pratica musicale, ma anche per discutere specifiche tematiche musicali del Novecento. Luciano Berio begins his poetical testament, Remembering the future, with an explicit link to the three types of music conceived by Boezio and during the discussion of specific themes of contemporary music he returns on this item several times. The present work intends to investigate the motivation of a similar confrontation with this medieval philosopher within the poetic and aesthetic research of one of the most important representatives of nineteenth century music; on the other hand the intention is to make clear in which way he proceeds by actualizing Boezio’s theory. It will become clear that the problems of nineteenth century music necessitate a profound philosophical reflection, which can not be limited to its mere theoretical and abstract component, if it doesn’t want to miss music in itself and, on the other hand, it can not be limited to the only musical practice, if it doesn’t want to renounce on its own consciousness. In this sense Berio reinterprets the three types of music, mundana, humana and intrumentalis, in their boezian conception in order to cope not only with the one big problem of the relationship between musical theory and practice, but also in order to discuss specific musical themes of the nineteenth century. È questa la prima immagine che appare a Emanuele Severino quando, errando tra i ricordi, riavvolge i fili della propria esistenza. Errando, appunto, perché il ricordo è di per sé falso e distratto. Tra aneddoti e suggestioni, riaffiorano l'infanzia a Brescia e gli anni della guerra; la scomparsa del fratello Giuseppe, arruolatosi come "volontario" sul fronte francese, e l'incontro con (...) Esterina, "la ragazza più bella di Brescia", che diventerà sua moglie ed è lo sfondo di queste pagine; gli studi universitari a Pavia e l'insegnamento alla Cattolica di Milano, a seguito del "maestro" Gustavo Bontadini; la controversia con la Chiesa, che nel 1970 proclamò l'incompatibilità delle sue posizioni con quelle della dottrina cattolica; il rapporto con i figli; la stesura delle sue opere e le conversazioni filosofiche con gli amici. Quello di Balducci č un ‘pensiero di confine' costruito all'insegna della fedeltÀ all'‘asse evangelico' e, contemporaneamente, di una radicale istanza di laicitÀ.
