As we grapple with the far-reaching global issues of climate catastrophe, refugee crisis, economic inequalities, environmental destruction, pandemics, and more, the call for global (international) solidarity has never been more urgent. While these issues have significant local implications and necessitate action at the nation-state level, it is widely recognized that their resolution surpasses the capabilities of individual nations. Instead, they demand global cooperation and solidarity. However, the nature, basis, sources, potentials, and conditions of such global solidarity remain largely unexplored. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de 1963 ile 2012 yılları arasında din psikolojisi alanında yapılan ve hala devam eden yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerine ilişkin analizler yer almaktadır. Bunun yanında din psikolojisinin Türkiye’de akademide yer alışına dair kısa bir tarihçe vardır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, din psikolojisi doktora tezlerine ilişkin bir bibliyografya oluşturarak, araştırmacılara ve lisansüstü öğrencilerine bir katalog sunmaktır. Ayrıca, tezlere ait verilerin analizleriyle, yapılacak yeni çalışmalara yol göstermek amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem olarak literatür taraması yapılmış, farklı kurumların katalogları taranmış ve alandaki akademisyenlerle görüşülmüştür. Elde (...) edilen bilgiler doğrultusunda tezler, yüksek lisans ve doktora tezleri olarak tasnif edilmiş ve yazar referans alınarak alfabetik sıraya göre dizilmiştir. This article critically engages with Philip Pettit’s civic republican theory, particularly his account of what it takes to realize non-domination in society. Despite providing a comprehensive analysis of the institutional prerequisites for realizing non-domination, Pettit surprisingly overlooks the critical role of education in achieving this goal. Pettit’s neglect of republican education has been widely criticized, and a growing body of literature seeks to develop a civic education theory suitable for civic republican purposes. While there is considerable disagreement in the literature (...) regarding the content and methods of republican education, almost all consider its scope restricted to the pupil’s education. Pettit’s insufficient understanding of domination’s ill effects constrains our ability to envision a comprehensive educational response. In contrast, the republican tradition provides more substantial reasons for condemning domination and a richer account of the harms of domination, including a detailed account of the pervasive moral, developmental, and psychological harms. By drawing on women republicans of the 18th century (Mary Wollstonecraft, Sophie de Grouchy) and contemporary feminists (I. M. Young, and others), the article aims to establish the case for rehabilitative education, utilizing Tostan (an African-based NGO) as a model for its pedagogy and implementation. Such reconstruction requires challenging core tenets of Pettit’s theory, such as his dismissal of positive liberty, the limited role he assigns to civil society organizations, and how he envisions the politics of republicanism. Hence, by revisiting and taking issue with Pettit’s republicanism, the article advocates for rehabilitative education programs to overcome domination and envisions a more engaged and grassroots political framework for the politics of republicanism. This article examines the pedagogical potential and challenges of the design jury as an assessment method from the perceptions of the tutor/jury member and the design students. It aims to gain an understanding of the factors that create opportunities for, and barriers to, the promotion of learning in the design jury. It inquires the possible contributions of the jury into formative evaluation processes in design education. The (...) results show that the communication modalities, and the evaluation criteria influence the way tutors and students perceive design jury as a pedagogical method. While the hierarchy between the jury member and the student creates a barrier to constructive feedback, a balance between formative and summative evaluations is essential in the design jury. Transparency of evaluation criteria decreases design students’ concern for grade. The design jury could also serve for formative evaluation. A student-centred approach to design jury engenders experiences of deep learning. (shrink)

The religiosity of academics has been studied for over a decade. With few exceptions, this research has been conducted on American “elite” scientists, and data from non-Western countries is lacking. Drawing from psychological and sociological literature, the present exploratory study investigates the religiosity of Turkish academics and their perceptions on the relationship between religion and science, and associated variables such as interpretation of the Quran, and belief in evolution and creationism. Moreover, we address criticism directed at previous research by probing (...) for different God concepts among believing academics. Although cultural differences can be identified, the results generally support the idea that academics are less religious with 54% identifying as “less religious” or “not religious,” compared to 24.2% self-identifying as “religious” or “extremely religious.”. Okul öncesi çağı, çocuk için önemli bir zaman aralığıdır. Altın çağ olarak ifade edilen söz konusu dönemde çocuğun gelişimsel özellikleri dikkate alınarak bilişsel, fiziksel ve duygusal ihtiyaçlarının giderilmesi önem arz etmektedir. Eğer bu dönemde giderilmesi gereken ihtiyaçlar giderilmez veya geciktirilse bu durum çocuğun gelişimini olumsuz etkileyebilir. Bireyin bu dönemde yaşadığı tecrübelerin sıklığı ve niteliği onun kimlik, kişilik ve benliğinin temelini oluşturmaktadır. Bu dönem kritik dönem olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Çocukluk döneminde kazanılması gereken bilgi ve davranışlar kazanılmazsa telafisi zor olabilir. Eğer yanlış öğrenilmiş (...) ise düzeltilmesi güç olabilir. O halde öncelikle çocuğa kazandırılacak bilgilerin doğru ve çocuğun yaşına uygun olması önemlidir. Okul öncesi dönemi çocukları için çevre önemlidir. Onlar öğrenmelerini etrafını gözlemleyerek, gördüklerini ve duyduklarını tecrübe ederek gerçekleştirmektedir. Bu dönemde çocuğun yaşadığı çevrede, aile ortamında kullanılan kelimeler, kavramlar, deyimler ve anne-babanın davranışları onun zihin şemasını oluşturmaktadır. Çocukların erken yaşta dini kavramları duyması, telaffuz etmesi ve kullanması onların din duygusunun ve din dillerinin gelişimine katkı sağlayabilir. Söz konusu dönemde çocuklar bu kavramların ne anlama geldiğini anlayamayabilir. Belki bu kavramları yanlış da kullanabilir. Ancak söz konusu tecrübeler çocuğun yetişkinlik döneminde vereceği kararlarını etkileyebilir. Çocukluk dönemindeki yaşantının çeşitliliği ve niteliği onun sağlıklı bir kimlik, kişilik ve benlik oluşumu için çok değerlidir. Bu dönemde çocukların maddi, manevi ihtiyaçları gelişim seviyelerine uygun ve dengeli bir şekilde giderildiği zaman ilerleyen yaş döneminde kendisiyle ve çevresiyle barışık bir birey yetişmiş olacaktır. Çalışmanın problemini çocukların din dili ve dini duygularının gelişiminde ninnilerin yeri ve önemi nedir? sorusu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın amacı ise çocukluk döneminde anneler tarafından söylenen ninnilerin çocukların dini duygu, din dili ve dil gelişimindeki yerini ve önemini var olan alanyazın üzerinden ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma özellikle çocukluk döneminde anneler tarafından söylenen ninnilerin çocukların din dili ve dini duygu gelişimine etkisi ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden belge tarama tekniği kullanılmıştır. Ninnilerin anne ile çocuk arasında sevgi, bağlanma, güvenme gibi duyguların gelişmesine de katkı sağladığı görülmüştür. Ninnilerin çocukların erken yaşta konuşmalarına ve kelimeleri doğru telaffuz etmelerine katkı sağladığı tespit edilmiştir. Ninnilerin sadece çocukları uyutmak veya uykudan uyandırmak için değil aynı zamanda annelerin sevinç, mutluluk, hüzün ve kederlerini çocukları ile paylaşma aracı olarak kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Ninnilerin çocukların din dili ve dini duygularının gelişimine katkı sağladığı çalışmanın tespitleri arasında yer almaktadır. (shrink)

As in classical Latin philosophical and theological texts, Spinoza did not make any semantic distinction between the concepts of conscientia and conscius, and used one interchangeably. But the concept of conscientia is used as an “inner voice” or “conscience” meaning “moral sensitivity” or “moral awareness” and expresses both rational and irrational processes in traditioanl philosophy. On the other hand, the concept of conscius is used in the sense of “consciousness” and expresses a mental or psychological reflexive activity based on rational (...) processes in the same tradition. Based on Spinoza's use of the two concepts in the same sense, this study claims that “moral sensitivity” is formed as a result of reflexive thinking, which is a mental action. Where consciousness is understood as a reflexive activity based on the relationship between ideas, it is argued that “moral awareness” occurs in the mind as an idea formed as a result of the relationship between ideas. In the study, it is determined that Spinoza developed a kind of “moral consciousness” theory based on the awareness in question, rather than a “conscience theory”. The main focus of the study is that the idea of “good” and “evil”, which are the basic concepts in Spinoza’s ethics, arise from the idea of “joy” and “sadness” that occur as emotions in the mind. Here, “joy” or “sadness” is considered as the primary ideas that occur in the mind as a result of the affection of the body, and “good” or “bad” as secondary ideas formed by the mind as a result of contemplation on these primary ideas. In the article, the theory of “moral consciousness” is based on the “ideas of ideas”, which are the secondary ideas in question.
