The paper is based on the findings of an empirical research on the application of information and communications technology in vocational schools in Zagreb and the Zagreb County. The authors analysed the interviews with vocational school teachers and students arranged in 6 focus groups. The analysis focussed on the objectives and manners in which the teachers and students usually use ICT, the perceived advantages and disadvantages of the use of ICT for educational purposes, and their suggestions for advancing the application (...) of ICT in schools. The analysis also discussed whether the application of ICT benefited the constructivist teaching, as well as the potential obstacles and stimulating factors for implementing ICT in teaching. The findings indicate that even though the teachers use ICT almost on daily basis, the teaching process is still largely dominated by traditional teaching methods. According to the findings, lack of computer equipment in schools, inadequate teacher training, inadequate curricula for vocational education, and the inadequate study programmes where the teachers are educated for the application of ICT in the teaching process are considered as obstacles for implementing ICT in education. In addition, teachers emphasised the lack of time and low income which often leads to their lack of motivation for the use of ICT in education. (shrink)

The author describes the Cartesian way of solving the problem of the universal method in mathematics, in particular, the problem of applying algebra in geometry when it comes to the convergence of a discrete number and a continuous quantity. The article shows that the solution to this problem proposed by F. Viète is imperfect, since it introduces vague pseudo-geometric objects, and the geometric quantity is still far from an algebraic number. The author proves that Descartes' solution to this problem through (...) the use of Eudoxus proportions is based on such Cartesian epistemological principles as: the requirement of clarity and expressiveness of thinking; the idea of the central role of a holistic mathematical science; the idea of the existence of a simple and obvious nature of length as a basis for comparing all extended things; the elevation of the concept of ratio to the rank of a single subject of mathematical disciplines. Considering the difference in the level of Internet development across the world and the great number of web presentations, domestic web sites have great competition in informing about Serbia coming from foreign web sites. Internet polako postaje nezaobilazni izvor informacija u gotovo svim sferama zivota i obezbedjuje da informacije velikom brzinom cirkulisu izmedju ljudi sa razlicitih (...) kontinenata. Internet ima znacajnu ulogu i u prezentaciji zemlje, njenih institucija i vrednosti. S obzirom na razlike u nivou njegovog razvoja u svetu i na ogroman broj prezentacija na web-u, domaci sajtovi u informisanju o Srbiji imaju veliku konkurenciju od strane inostranih sajtova. (shrink)

The article describes two approaches to modeling the concept system of science – the thematic and paradigm ones. The re­search represents a case study of the two corpuses of abstracts: abstracts of projects supported by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Russian Federal Property Fund in lin­guistics, as well abstracts of articles by authors (and their co-au­thors) who have received multiple support from this foundation. Thematic modeling was carried out within the frameworks of two approaches: сcorpus based (...) approach (modeling the system of concepts as a holistic entity of term fields network), and single text approach (singling out compositions of term fields steadily present in the texts of projects which can be treated as separate branches of linguistics). The method of semantic graph modeling realized in the “Semograph” Information system (corpus based approach) and the K-means clustering method (single text based approach) were applied. Arrays of keywords (those that occurred in the abstracts of projects supported by the Foundation) grouped into term fields served as operational units. Paradigmatic model­ing was based on the analysis of network interaction of research­ers (created on the basis of the information on joint publications). After the hypergraph of researchers (2,108 state points) had been created, it was divided into subgraphs (network communities) by means of the modularity method (analogue of cluster analysis). Each cluster can be considered as a model of a scientific commu­nity that actualize a certain scientific paradigm; a set of clusters represents a model of the concept system of a certain subject domain from the point of view of representation and interrela­tion of several paradigms. The synthesis of thematic and paradig­matic models appears to be the direction for future research that involves modeling the concept system of science. The considered models can be applied as an effective means of monitoring, fore­casting and managing scientific research, i.e. as an instrument of state and/or department policy. (shrink)

In this paper, we explore the role of Slovenian in constituting non-normative genders. The poststructuralist turn in sociolinguistics brought with it new theoretical frameworks that questioned existing assumptions about seemingly natural social categories. Drawing on the perspective of queer linguistics that presents a fundamental challenge to the assumption that binary systems for categorizing gender and sexuality are natural, universal, and indisputable, we explore the extent to which grammatical gender both constrains and facilitates the realization of transgender and non-binary identities among (...) speakers of Slovenian. In order to perform their non-normative genders, non-binary individuals use linguistic practices, such as the underscore, inverse gender markers, or blending feminine and masculine grammatical forms. Their social actions are both interposed by the social structure and can also lead to changes in it by decentring binary genders.1. (shrink)

V prispevku preučujemo vlogo slovenščine pri konstituiranju spolno nenormativnih subjektov. Poststrukturalistični obrat v sociolingvistiki je prinesel nove teoretične okvire, ki so preizprašali obstoječe predpostavke o navidezno naravnih družbenih kategorijah. Na izhodiščih kvir jezikoslovja, ki predstavlja temeljni izziv predpostavki, da so binarni sistemi spolne in seksualne kategorizacije naravni, univerzalni in nedvomni, raziskujemo, v kolikšni meri slovnični spol omejuje in hkrati omogoča uresničevanje transspolnih in spolno nebinarnih identitet med govorkami_ci slovenščine. Spolno nebinarne osebe za izražanje svojih nenormativnih spolov uporabljajo jezikovne prakse, kot (...) so podčrtaj, inverzni spolni označevalci ali mešanje ženskih in moških slovničnih oblik. Njihova družbena dejanja so odvisna od družbene strukture, obenem pa lahko z decentralizacijo binarnih spolov vodijo k njenim spremembam. (shrink)

Na podlagi kritičnega pregleda teoretskih razprav Branislava Djurdjeva, v katerih nam avtor predstavi svojo koncepcijo razvoja historične metode, skuša pisec - ob pomoči Mirjane Gross -prikazati, kako nas vztrajno in nereflektirano zagovarjanje edine prave metode zgodovinopisja postavi v položaj, ko zgodovino kot epistčme razumemo samo še kot sredstvo za »razsvetljevanje« sodobnikov, se pravi kot zgodovino, iz katere se je treba učiti in na podlagi njenih naukov spreminjati ali potrjevati lastna stališča.
