Para compreender a relação de Adorno com a fenomenologia, ou melhor, a relação Adorno-Husserl, é importante distinguir dois momentos indissociáveis: (I) a crítica da fenomenologia operada a partir da dialética, e (II) o reconhecimento da legitimidade de um momento fenomenológico contra idealismo hegeliano. Do ponto de vista conceitual, trata-se, portanto, de desconstruir a primazia do imediato, que caracteriza o conceito fenomenológico do dado, para depois denunciar a pretensão idealista de uma totalização de todas as mediações em um sistema de (...) pensamento. A coexistência desses dois requisitos no mesmo método poderia ter sido reduzida, se não a uma contradição, ao menos a uma aporia. O acerto de contas com o idealismo husserliano torna-se, portanto, prima facie, uma importante chave de leitura para a compreensão da filosofia de Adorno. Ainda mais quando se trata da forma negativa que sua dialética assumirá. Essas são as questões que este artigo pretende discutir. (shrink)

Através da distinção entre atitude natural e atitude transcendental, Husserl parece fundamentar várias de suas teses, como a diferença do agir propriamente filosófico frente o científico, a necessidade do método fenomenológico na investigação do âmbito subjetivo, etc. Com a exposição e problematização da noção fenomenológica de atitude (Einstellung) neste artigo, se pretende trazer luz à crítica desenvolvida pelo fenomenólogo ao objetivismo presente nas ciências particulares, principalmente a partir do período moderno. Tais discussões, permitem a compreensão de que as reflexões (...) husserlianas trouxeram grandes contribuições tanto ao procedimento científico, quanto à tradição fenomenológica de investigação. Comenzaré por aclarar el título, del cual debo la primera parte a la Escuela de Frankfurt, teoría crítica de la sociedad, y la segunda a Martín Heidegger. Trataré luego ―¿tarea imposible?― de reconciliar estos dos modos de pensar, volviendo al sentido del pensar en Kant y a las cosas mismas que pensamos en nuestra cotidianidad de acuerdo con la fenomenología de Edmundo Husserl, maestro de Heidegger y partícipe de la crítica al positivismo de los frankfurtianos, para proponer que (...) la filosofía puede servir para reencantar al mundo de la vida y a la sociedad civil, necesariamente desencantados por los modernos procesos de racionalización. It is intended to problematize the concept of essence, based on Edmundo Huserl’s menology, which is directly related to the zero of knowledge, which takes place from the process of époche, or suspension of the degree of judgment, to apprehend the knowledge of to intentional experiences (Husserl, 1907). Would we be able to reach the zero degree of knowledge? Would it be possible to apprehend the essence of things? Would the phenomenological method give us elements that allow it (...) to aim at things? Would we be able to overcome, through suspension of judgments, the concepts that we use on a daily basis? What essence would this be, when we are formed and conformed to the concept of essence, as a pure form deriving from the Platonic doctrine (Plato, 1972). What conclusion can we reach on this matter? And what are the consequences for a rigorous reading of the concept of essence in Husserl? This is our intention in this article, as a reflective challenge. (shrink)

Here we prove the existence of sheaf cohomology theory in arbitrary o-minimal structures.

We show that if G is a definably compact, definably connected definable group defined in an arbitrary o-minimal structure, then G is divisible. Furthermore, if G is defined in an o-minimal expansion of a field, k ∈ ℕ and pk : G → G is the definable map given by pk = xk for all x ∈ G , then we have |–1| ≥ kr for all x ∈ G , where r > 0 is the maximal dimension of abelian (...) definable subgroups of G. Das Husserlbild der Gegenwart ist noch weitgehend gepragt von den erkenntnistheoretischen "Logischen Untersuchungen", durch die Husserl in weitem MaBe als Begriinder einer neuen objektiven Logik gilt. Mitunter wird er sogar als einseitig orien tierter Rationalist und Aufklarer des 20. J ahrhunderts, als der "Cartesius unserer Tage" 1 angesehen. Dieses Bild Husserls kann wohl jederzeit durch seine Veroffent lichungen gerechtfertigt werden. Dennoch ist es einseitig und recht vordergriindig, da dabei voll und ganz iibersehen wird, daB auch der Bereich des Emotionalen (...) flir HusserI ein entscheiden gut wie nichts des Interessengebiet darstellt, wovon bislang so veroffentlicht worden ist. Let R be an o-minimal expansion of an ordered group R has no poles, R cannot define a real closed field with domain R and order R is eventually linear and every R -definable set is a finite union of cones. As a corollary we get that Th has quantifier elimination and universal axiomatization in the language with symbols for the ordered group operations, bounded R -definable sets and a symbol for each definable endomorphism of the group.

The pragmatist turn in Philosophy in the late XIX century and XX century was a serious attempt to refuse the privilege of the representational elements of the conscious- ness in the production of knowledge. Such privilege has its roots in Ancient Philosophy, in some consequences of the Platonic heritage, but was toughened by Modern philosophers of empiricist or aprioristic lineages within the modern concepts of Experience and Truth. With these last concepts of Experience and Truth I’m referring to the objectivising (...) tendency that leads to identify experience with the final object resulting from the judicative fixation of relations. Due to the fixation of some basic relations the object of experience was identified and conceived with such and such characteristics as something independent of the mental or judicative activity. Such method of fixation and objectivising of relations is also present in the common-sense ideas of Reality, Experience and Truth. In the field of the theory of signs the reputation of the modern concept of representation was so vast that despite the progress in the discovery of the differential character of the linguistic units, Saussure’s well-known notion of sign and the division between “signifiant” and “signifié” still kept the reference to the double across the body/mind polarity and to the “mental image” of the sign, Vorstellung, concept or “signifié,” as the core of meaning. If Peirce and James agree in the refusal of the classical theory of representation, their rejection came from different horizons and their critiques don’t mean the same. I’ll try to show that James’s and Peirce’s attempts are not disjunctive, although they are not members of a simple addition. In the writings of the Tartu School and in T. Sebeok’s reassessment to Peircean semeiosis one finds interesting tools to reconsider the relation to the World of the “field of consciousness” and semeiosic cycles, beyond representationalism, such as the concepts of environment and primary, secondary and tertiary modelling systems. Starting with these insights I’ll propose at the end of the essay the notion of a double environment between psychic systems and systems based on communication. (shrink)

Suppose G is a definably connected, definable group in an o-minimal expansion of an ordered group. We show that the o-minimal universal covering homomorphism equation image: equation image→ G is a locally definable covering homomorphism and π1 is isomorphic to the o-minimal fundamental group π of G defined using locally definable covering homomorphisms.

We prove that in a semi-bounded o-minimal expansion of an ordered group every non-empty open definable set is a finite union of open cells.

It is estimated that typhoid fever (TF) annually affects more than 12 million persons, worldwide. TF is the result of a generalized infection by the enterobacterium Salmonella typhi. Patients with TF, most of whom live in developing countries have impaired activity for several weeks resulting in an important loss in productivity and welfare. Death may occur, with the single most frequent cause being intestinal perforation. While the first priority must be to develop better methods of disease prevention, there is also (...) an urgent need to devise easy, accurate, and inexpensive diagnostic assays that will allow early routine distinction of TF from other febrile illnesses. Research on TF offers the opportunity to explore many aspects of pathogenesis and the host immune response, as well as to contribute toward the development of new vaccines and diagnostic laboratory tests. We show that in an arbitrary o-minimal structure the following are equivalent: conjugates of a definable subgroup of a definably connected, definably compact definable group cover the group if the o-minimal Euler characteristic of the quotient is non zero; every infinite, definably connected, definably compact definable group has a non trivial torsion point.

Huayñusi es una danza-ritual relacionada con la siembra de papas (Solanum tuberosum), tiene un sentido simbólico que se expresa al bailar percutando los pies contra el suelo. Se ejecuta por parejas y en grupo. El objetivo del estudio fue mostrar que esta danza-rito es una estrategia simbólica orientada a neutralizar la amenaza de organismos biológicos externos que se cierne sobre los cultivos. El registro etnográfico que proviene de comunidades andinas de Tacna (Perú) referente a las prácticas agrícolas y rituales, hacen (...) concluir que Huayñusi responde a la necesidad simbólica de garantizar el desarrollo de la semilla. Devido à sua adoção no Inglês, as línguas nacionais divulgaram o termo de proveniência latina medium e o seu plural media para designar formas simbólicas e materiais de comunicação da sociedade moderna. O uso do termo no plural é recente e também a atenção teórica que despertou. É sob “Teoria dos Media”, “Filosofia dos Media”, “Filosofia dos novos Media”, etc. que a investigação empírica e teórica se tem desenvolvido nas últimas décadas em uma variedade de disciplinas e encruzilhadas disciplinares. O (...) termo inglês sobrepõe‑se ao latino e assim desperta antigos ecos. Nas outras línguas nacionais a potenciação destas ressonâncias interlinguísticas poderá não ser a mesma, como acontece no Inglês. No entanto, em media o cruzamento do Inglês e do Latim revela acerca do termo aquilo que teoricamente e do ponto de vista semântico é necessário ter em conta, a saber ‑a mediação. Os termos medium e media não definem objetos isoláveis nos seus predicados materiais, mas, antes, uma polimorfia material na mediação, que está aí, no mundo da perceção, enquanto forma e/ou reproduz comunicação. Ao mesmo tempo que parecem designar formas da perceção, os media não são corpos ou organismos nem estados psíquicos. O presente trabalho dá conta dos problemas suscitados pelos nexos entre comunicação, perceção e técnica nos media, identifica a herança clássica nas Filosofias da Técnica e as viragens modernas. The PACARI brand is taken as a reference, which has international recognition, managing to position Ecuador as the country where the best chocolate in the world originates. The objective is to analyze the impact of PACARI and its connection in ethical consumption, where the brand has generated impact from the word of (...) mouth marketing that it creates from influencers, and the commitment with its interest groups. To reduce ambiguity across a conversation, interlocutors reach temporary conventions or referential precedents on how to refer to an entity. Despite their central role in communication, the cognitive underpinnings of the interpretation of precedents remain unclear, specifically the role and mechanisms by which information related to the speaker is integrated. We contrast predictions of one-stage, original two-stage, and extended two-stage models for the processing of speaker information and provide evidence favoring the latter: we show that both stages are sensitive to (...) speaker-specific information. Using an experimental paradigm based on visual-world eye tracking in the context of a referential communication task, we look at the moment-by-moment interpretation of precedents and focus on the temporal profile of the influence of the speaker and linguistic information when facing ambiguity. We find two clearly identifiable moments where speaker-specific information has its effects on reference resolution. We conclude that these two stages reflect two distinct cognitive mechanisms, with different timings, and rely on different representational formats for encoding and accessing information about the speaker: a cue-driven memory retrieval process that mediates language processing and an inferential mechanism based on perspective-taking abilities. Siguiendo los enfoques contemporáneos del significado de la Historia de la Filosofía para la Filosofía, en este trabajo abordaré la situación de la Historia de la Filosofía de Hegel en el sistema, confrontándola con las Historias especiales (Política, Arte, Religión), el desarrollo lógico de la Idea en figuras y las «totalidades concretas» dotadas de significado epocal. El texto es también un ensayo de articulación del desarrollo lógico de la Idea con las condiciones semánticas de las réplicas históricas de su significado.

In seiner letzten Schrift unternimmt Husserl den Versuch, auf dem Wege einer teleologisch-historischen Besinnung auf die Ursprünge unserer kritischen wissenschaftlichen und philosophischen Situation die Notwendigkeit einer transzendentalphänomenologischen Umwendung der Philosophie zu begründen. Er geht von seinem Begriff der "Lebenswelt" aus und entwickelt eine auf diesen Zentralbegriff seiner Spätphilosophie gegründete eigenständige Einleitung in die transzendentale Phänomenologie.

We show that in an o-minimal expansion of an ordered group finite definable extensions of a definable group which is defined in a reduct are already defined in the reduct. A similar result is proved for finite topological extensions of definable groups defined in o-minimal expansions of the ordered set of real numbers.

Esta contribución revisa los principales aspectos discutidos en mi libro La Individuación de la Sociedad Moderna (en portugués), publicado en 2011. Este trabajo es un conjunto de investigaciones dedicadas al estudio de la semántica de los conceptos histórico-sociales de la modernidad. Se centró en los conceptos movilizados por G. W. F. Hegel en las Grundlinien der Philosophie des Rechts (1821), a lo largo del tratamiento de las tres figuras axiales de la tercera sección “Sittlichkeit”: la Familia, Sociedad Civil y el (...) Estado. Sin olvidar los temas derivados de la integración de la “Sittlichkeit” en el sistema de la Enciclopedia de las Ciencias Filosóficas, y su valor filosófico intrínseco, el núcleo de las investigaciones residió en la integración de los conceptos en corrientes semánticas mas amplias, particularmente en lo que se refiere a la reevaluación crítica de las consecuencias morales e políticas del Sistema de la Naturaleza de los siglos XVII e XVIII, de la que depende la comprensión de la critica hegeliana del Derecho Natural, desde Jena hasta Berlín.
