Summary |
This subcategory refers texts satisfying criteria
concerning both the “business ethics” category (i.e.,, “the application of ethical theories and concepts to
activity within and between commercial enterprises, and between commercial
enterprises and their broader environment”) and public policy issues – i.e., the
evaluation of government policies and, more broadly, social decisions. So, papers referring
only ethical aspects of business decisions, but with no reference to public decision-making
or public concerns, do not fall into this subcategory; neither do papers focused only on
ethical aspects of public policies and economic decisions, without discussing decisions
made by agents in market transactions or corporate environments. Thus, we distinguish papers that fall under this category from
papers that are best classified exclusively under other areas in political
philosophy, philosophy of economics, bioethics, environmental ethics, or under
other categories in applied ethics and business ethics. |
