Recent efforts in a range of scientific fields have emphasised research and methods concerning individual differences and individualisation. This article brings together various scientific disciplines—ecology, evolution, and animal behaviour; medicine and psychiatry; public health and sport/exercise science; sociology; psychology; economics and management science—and presents their research on individualisation. We then clarify the concept of individualisation as it appears in the disciplinary casework by distinguishing three kinds of individualisation studied in and across these disciplines: Individualisation ONE as creating/changing individual differences (the (...) process that generates differences between individuals: intrapopulation or intraspecific variation/heterogeneity); Individualisation TWO as individualising applications (the tailoring or customising of something—information, treatment, a product or service, etc.—for an individual or specific group of individuals); and Individualisation THREE as social changes influencing autonomy, risk, and responsibilities (the process discussed under the rubric of sociological individualisation theory). Moreover, we analyse conceptual links between individualisation and individuality, and characterise different sorts of individuality that the disciplines study. This paper aims to promote interdisciplinary research concerning individualisation by establishing a common conceptual-theoretical basis, while leaving room for disciplinary differences. (shrink)

Thomas von Aquin zu Avencebrol (beitrage III, 3) habe ich zur Charakteristik des judischen Philosophen in Kurze auch auf dessen Quellen ver wiesen. Sollten dort meine Ausfuhrungen nur die bereits fest gestellten Resultate zusammenfassen, so werden hier die Quellen Avencebrol's zum Gegenstand einer selbstandigen Untersuchung gemacht. Den ersten Anlata hiezu gab J. Guttmann durch eine Anzeige (...) obiger Arbeit in A. Harnack's theologischer Lite raturzeitung (1901, Nr. Da innerhalb der Abhandlung eine Berucksichtigung dieser Rezension nicht wohl angangig war, so seien hier einige Worte der Auseinandersetzung gestattet. Herr Dr. Guttmann beanstandet zunachst meine Angaben uber den Ursprung der Willenslehre Avencebrol's. Pseudoempe dokles und die sog. Theologie des Aristoteles konnen allerdings hinsichtlich jenes Lehrpunktes dem Fons vitae kaum als Vor bilder gedient haben; hier bedarf meine fruhere Darstellung der Berichtigung. Merklich anders verhalt es sich bereits mit den lauteren Brudern, wenn auch eine unmittelbare Abhangig keit nicht nachweisbar ist. Durchaus gesichert sodann durfte nunmehr die Thatsache sein, da13 die Lehre vom Willen in den Grundzugen nicht als originelle Leistung Avencebrol's betrachtet werden kann, sondern langst vorher ein Thema der arabischen Spekulation bildet. Beyond the usual conception of Johann Nikolaus Tetens as the “German Locke”, this paper wants to reassess the distinctive German context of the empiricist reference in the Essay on the Reform of the Speculative Philosophy (1775) and in the Philosophical Essays on Human Nature and Its Development (1777). This move shows that Tetens delivers a critical view of the empiricist philosophy and refuses to conflate the activity of the understanding and the passivity of the sensibility; he produces for that purpose (...) a highly original philosophy of human cognition which gives a pivotal place to the autonomous productions of the imagination and the understanding. J. Arthur Baird is the author of several important books in New Testament studies, his best known perhaps being his Audience Criticism and the Historical Jesus. At his untimely death, he left a nearly complete manuscript, now published here. In this timely and relevant manuscript, Baird offers first a critical introduction to the historical paradigm, pointing out its limitations in terms of tracing the paradigm of New Testament formation. He then traces this development himself, beginning with the starting point of (...) the Holy Word and noting its development through the context, theological interpretation, and application, to its manifestation in the apostles, schools and fathers. Bultmann entreprend une herméneutique « existentiale » et « démythologisante » de la prédication apocalyptique de Jésus, mise en lumière par J. Weiss et A. Pour J. Moingt, la résurrection, fondement de la christologie, permet de relire la vie de Jésus comme l’histoire de Dieu menant avec les hommes depuis la création le combat eschatologique de la vie contre la mort.La pensée eschatologique s’élabore aussi dans la ligne des théologiens de l'histoire. O. Cullmann fait du Christ le centre de l’histoire du salut, entre un « déjà là » et un « pas encore ». Avec plus d’ambition mais aussi d’ambiguïté, W. Pannenberg situe la résurrection de Jésus, en tant qu’événement historique, au regard de l'histoire universelle dont elle anticipe la fin. But the passage from the Theology of Hope to the Crucified God poses the difficult problem of the connection between the horizon of hope and history left to suffering. For J. Moingt, the resurrection, foundation of Christology, permits a rereading of the life of Jesus as the history of God, who, from the time of creation, leads humanity in the eschatological combat of life against death.Eschatological thought also develops in the direction of theologies of history. O. Cullmann makes Christ the center of the history of salvation, between an “already here” and a “not yet”. With greater ambition but also ambiguity, W Pannenberg places the resurrection of Jesus as a historical event, in comparison with universal history, of which it anticipates the end.
