Il saggio propone una traccia di ricerca per l’elaborazione di una teoria politica della cooperazione, ovvero per la considerazione del fenomeno cooperativo come caratterizzato da una peculiare modalità di azione collettiva, non ricompresa nella celebre distinzione hirschmaniana tra Exit, Voice e Loyalty. Chi partecipa all’impresa cooperativa non crede nelle possibilità di successo sia dell’opzione voice che di quella exit, ma pratica una forma diversa di azione che si basa sulla fiducia in se stessi e nei soci che hanno (...) interessi comuni. Questa forma di azione collettiva può essere preliminarmente definita come entry. L’entry riporta all’interno del mercato chi aveva scelto l’opzione exit, conservando al tempo stesso quella carica di contestazione delle relazioni capitalistiche tipica dell’opzione voice. L’impresa cooperativa, in virtù di questa doppia caratteristica dell’azione dei suoi soci, rappresenta quindi un’opzione, oltre che economica, anche politica. (shrink)

In its long development the Italian cooperative movement went through slow and steady transformations, that have generally sheltered it from radical discontinuities. The different trends and political traditions that have become intertwined with the history of the cooperative movement highlight the flexibility of the cooperative principles which have been adapted on the basis of different situations, without being modified in their abstract outlines. In this paper we argue that the Italian cooperative movement on the one hand seems to have absorbed (...) the principles of market economy through the adoption of organization of productions and functional structures similar to those of many capitalist companies. On the other hand Italian cooperative movement have developed a peculiar form of social action based on the institutionalization of postulates such as the mutual aid and solidarity. In short the cooperative form has historically constituted and continues to be shaped as a peculiar pattern in which undercapitalization requires a wider-ranging fluidity of the working relationships. These have been raised to the ranks of moral values in social action. (shrink)

Il saggio indaga il rapporto fra impresa e società fra ottocento e novecento così come si esprime nelle società per azioni e nelle imprese cooperative. Nella seconda metà dell’Ottocento i codici di commercio europei introducono la deregolamentazione delle public company e codificano per la prima volta l’impresa cooperativa. Entrambe le novità rappresentano una riposta ai problemi centrali di quella fase dello sviluppo industriale: il finanziamento delle iniziative economiche, la questione sociale e la governance dell’impresa. Si delineano (...) così due forme di impresa, la public company e l’impresa cooperativa, che per tutto il Novecento alimenteranno il dibattito sul rapporto fra società e impresa e contribuiranno alla crescita delle economie occidentali. Through a reading of all the articles collected in the monographic section of «Scienza & Politica», this introduction shows how "cooperation" is a multifaceted concept, crisscrossed by contradictions and ambivalences. The author provides a brief historical and political analysis of the concept of cooperation, stressing its importance in contemporary debates and pointing out both the most productive and problematic aspects of the recent development of a political theory of cooperation.

The University of Perugia's Archivio storico preserves a sixteenth-century manuscript of the imprese of the Accademia degli Insensati, an institution which is well-known for its important members and affiliates in the ecclesiastical and poetic circles of Perugia and Rome. Largely unpublished, the manuscript collects forty-three imprese of academicians, drawn by different artists and miniaturists, including that of the painter and theorist Federico Zuccari. In later life Zuccari proudly made use of his Insensato nickname of Il Sonnacchioso, but here his (...) class='Hi'>impresa is unexpectedly given as Il Desioso. This article argues that the Il Desioso impresa represents Zuccari's application to join the Accademia. Drawn by the artist himself, featuring his device of the sugarloaf and accompanied by a prose description in his own hand, the impresa can be dated by comparisons with other works made around the time of Zuccari's move from Florence to Rome. It reflects a number of the theoretical ideas from this period of his life, concerning the role of Academies, the education of the artist, and classical culture. (shrink)

El artículo pretende evaluar la crítica de Robert Talisse a la noción de democracia de John Dewey según la cual dicha noción sería incompatible con el pluralismo razonable de corte rawlsiano y devendría opresiva pues se funda en el ideal moral del crecimiento. Para ello, se reconstruye la “objeción pluralista” de Talisse. Posteriormente, se consideran los argumentos centrales con que Dewey sostiene su perspectiva, a saber: el argumento experimentalista y el argumento formativo. En este marco, se sostiene que la idea (...) de democracia como cooperación social y la idea de crecimiento como fin moral, comprendidas en términos deweyanos, dan lugar al pluralismo por derecho propio. Resumen. A la Sociedad Cooperativa, se le distingue por ser una sociedad mercantil con ciertas particularidades a diferencia de los demás tipos de sociedades, tan es así que se rige por su legislación especial. En los últimos años en México, se ha detectado un incremento de sociedades cooperativas dedicadas al suministro de personal, toda vez que el esquema fue considerado por algunos especialistas fiscales como una alternativa para las empresas que buscan disminuir sus cargas impositivas derivadas de las relaciones (...) laborales. Dicho esquema básicamente consiste en transferir a los trabajadores de las empresas a la sociedad cooperativa, los cuales al ser registrados como socios, las remuneraciones que estos perciben son bajo el concepto de previsión social; en lugar de salarios evitando así la retención y pago del Impuesto Sobre la Renta correspondiente. Con motivo de lo anterior, en la presente investigación se analizan y califican los aspectos más relevantes del asunto.Palabras claves. A cooperative society is distinguished as a corporation with certain features unlike other types of companies, so much so that is governed by a special legislation. In recent years Mexico has seen an increase of cooperative societies dedicated to supply services, since the scheme was considered by some experts as an alternative tax for companies seeking to lower their tax burdens resulting from relations. This scheme basically consists of transferring workers from companies to the cooperative, which when registered as members the remuneration that they perceive are under the concept of social welfare, instead of avoiding wage withholding and payment of VAT Income for. On the occasion of the above, this research analyzes and scored the most relevant aspects of the case. (shrink)

Este ensaio discute a relevância de algumas abordagens epistemológicas, éticas e políticas de Jürgen Habermas para a análise de práticas de justiça de transição. Como objeto da análise, parte-se da experiência do autor como consultor de um dos grupos de trabalho da Comissão Nacional da Verdade brasileira, que foi estabelecida pela Lei 12528/2011. A construção da análise é teórica e não empírica, portanto despreza para efeitos argumentativos os meandros das investigações, depoimentos, audiências públicas e outros mecanismos de pesquisa efetivamente usados (...) pelos grupos de trabalho da Comissão Nacional da Verdade. O escopo da investigação é o papel da busca cooperativa da verdade, como empreendimento epistemológico, na consecução de elementos que favoreçam a reconciliação nacional e ao estabelecimento de um repertório hermenêutico capaz de criar condições para o entendimento mútuo, ante situações de superação de injustiças cometidas historicamente. O recurso à teoria de Jürgen Habermas é justificado, não apenas pela biografia deste autor, que se retroalimenta da necessidade histórica de reparação das injustiças cometidas pelo Nacional Socialismo na Alemanha, porém, sobretudo, pelas investigações sobre o papel da aprendizagem comunicativa como elemento restabelecedor de uma solidariedade construída em bases morais, de uma ética discursiva, que favorecem ao estabelecimento do Estado de direito e da democracia deliberativa. Neste sentido, a argumentação desenvolvida parte de constatações da Comissão Nacional da Verdade, se debruça sobre aspectos da ética do discurso, referentes à resolução de conflitos e se conclui com apreciações sobre o papel da justificação no estabelecimento da verdade. Are democracy and success compatible in a business organization? In this work we show how Spains Mondragón Corporación Cooperativa (MCC) has made it possible. MCC can be considered a world leader in cooperativism. It is one of the few contemporary business organizations that can be viewed as a democracy, and it represents a unique experience in the use of democratic and participatory methods in management. MCC has developed its own Management Model based on its cooperative principles, on modern management (...) practices and on the cutting edge experiences of the most advanced companies. In this work we analyze the key elements of MCCs democratic management model, developed around aspects such as corporate culture, organizational structure or human resources. We also look at the case of Irizar, a component cooperative of MCC internationally known for its successful management model. Finally, we outline some practical implications of introducing democracy into organizations, drawn from the experiences of MCC and Irizar. (shrink)

Este artículo se propone reconstruir histórica y metodológicamente la disputatio scholastica y acercarse a la manera como era ejercitado este tipo de juego dialéctico en los colegios jesuitas de la América Hispánica. Examinando fuentes manuscritas e impresas, se enumeran y discuten las reglas que los participantes de los certámenes filosóficos de la escolástica barroca obedecían. La estructura lógica y dialéctica de la disputatio es examinada a la luz del método de discusión abstraído y sistematizado por Aristóteles en los Tópicos. Warburg's “energetic aesthetics” could be interpreted then as nothing but another version of the hypertrophic, despotic subject Ferraris has often written about. We will show it that is not the case by considering the relationship that Warburg draws between Perseus and Hamlet.

This article analyzes how the cooperative principles and values of the social economy are the most pertinent to enhance a relational intelligence that overcomes the potential adverse effects for people and territories of the delegation of human relations in an artificial intelligence built on capitalist values. The analysis is based on the case study of the French cooperative digital platform Les Oiseaux de Passage, which supports different European heritage communities in enhancing their cultural heritage through activities linked to the tourism (...) sector. In this case, the technology operates as a de-intermediary, de-automated and de-standardizer, providing greater transparency and equity to the set of relationships that are established and contributing to the development of more horizontal relationships and economic democracy among partners and with visitors.
