저탄소녹색성장이라는 위선적인 정부의 슬로건에도 불구하고, 자본주의가 만들어낸 스테레오타입화된 삶은 전혀 바뀌지 않고 있다. 탄소무의식은 탄소중독적 삶을 형성하는 무의식적 배치를 의미한다. ‘아주 매끄럽게 달려가는 자동차, 빛깔 좋은 고기, 환한 불이 켜져 있는 아파트, 일회용으로 가득찬 상품들’ 이러한 이미지-영상들이 탄소무의식을 생산하며, 소비하게끔 하는 메커니즘이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 TV, 영화, 아파트, 자동차, 육식 등의 무의식적 배치를 펠릭스 가타리의 분열분석적 지도제작의 방법론을 적용하여 조망한다. 가타리의 분열분석의 방법론에 따라, TV가 고립되고 분리된 일상적 삶에 화음과 리듬을 부여하고 자본주의가 안전하고 평화롭다는 무의식을 주조하는 것, 영화가 (...) 낯선 곳으로 튕겨져 나가는 탈영토화 효과를 가지면서도 상업영화에 있어서 탄소무의식적 콘텐츠로 채워지는 것, 아파트가 공동체적 삶과 분리되고 구조-환상을 통해서 자본주의의 안전을 추구하는 보수적인 사고방식을 생산하는 것, 자동차가 속도와 에너지를 독점하고 지역순환사회의 고유성을 해체하는 것, 육식이 공장식 축사라는 보이지 않는 곳의 윤리와 미학을 배신하는 것 등이 차례로 기계적 담론성, 에너지-공간-시간적 담론성, 무형적 복잡성, 카오스모제적 구현이라는 4가지 구도에 의해서 분석된다. 그에 따라 탄소무의식에 대한 대안으로 탄소순환적 무의식으로 돌아가 ‘기계적 무의식’이라는 생명현상과 같이 주체성 생산으로 나타나는 무의식이 제출된다. 정신분석은 증상, 꿈, 실수 등에서 무의식을 발견하고 이를 연구한 학문이다. 분열분석은 정신분석에 대한 비판으로부터 비롯되었고, 기존 무의식에 새로운 지평을 연 학문이다. 그러나 정신분석에 대한 비판 위에서 분열분석이 출현한 까닭인지, 두 학문의 대립은 여전히 첨예하다. 본 연구는 정신분석과 분열분석 각 학문의 정초 지점과 주요 문제를 살펴보며, 각각의 학문이 지향하고자 하는 방향과 그 의의를 밝히고, 그를 위해 다르게 개념화된 무의식의 특성과 그차이를 보여준다. 정신분석은 심인적인 증상과 아픔을 겪는 사람의 치유와 회복을 위해 시작되었다. 이를 위해 세팅된 임상 장면에서 무의식의 장을 발견하였고, 이에 접근하기 (...) 위하여 최초로 무의식의 이론들을 고안하고 연구해왔다. 분열분석은 정신분석이 주체의 자율성에 대한 지점으로 나아가지 못한다는 문제로부터 비롯되었으며, 무의식과 광기에 대한 긍정성을 재조명하며 분열증적 과정을 통한 생성과 실천을 향한다. 이에 작동과 생산을 강조하는 분자적 무의식·기계적무의식 등 무의식의 새로운 개념을 제시한다. 본 연구는 정신분석과 분열분석의 비판 혹은 대립 지점들에 주목하기보다, 각 학문의 근본적 차이와 개념의 차이에 대한 이해를 구하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 들뢰즈, 가타리는 『안티-오이디푸스』에서 프로이트, 라캉의 욕망론을 결핍으로서의 욕망인 관념론적 환상이라고 비판하면서 유물론적 욕망론의 가능성을 모색한다. 이들은 프로이트, 라캉이 욕망을 오이디푸스 가족 모델에 가두고, 욕망의 리비도의 흐름을 차단했다고 비판한다. 이 글은 욕망에 대한 정신분석 계열과 분열분석 계열의 해석이 상이한 이유를 이들의 주요 개념 가운데, ‘억압’과 ‘무의식’에 대한 해석의 차이에서 찾는다. 그에 따라 우선 프로이트, 라캉의 억압의 양상을 살피고, 이들이 보지 못한 ‘심리적 억압’과 ‘사회적 억압’의 구별의 유의미를 들뢰즈, 가타리의 해석에 따라 추적한다. 그 다음, 프로이트, 라캉은 무의식을 정신 활동의 방어 기제에 의해 (...) 축출된 영역이나, 언어처럼 구조화된 무의식의 차원으로 이해한다. 이에 반해 들뢰즈, 가타리는 이들의 무의식에 대한 해석과 전혀 다르게 접근한다. 이 글은 이들의 무의식에 대한 다양하고도 새로운 해석 가운데, 특히 고아인 무의식, 생산적 무의식, 분자적 무의식을 집중해서 분석한다. 결론적으로 무의식에 대한 새로운 해석에 따라 욕망과 억압의 문제도 전혀 다르게 볼 수 있음을 보이고자 한다. 이들의 분열분석이 과연 현실에서 어떻게 적용 가능한지에 대한 실천적 적용 가능성을 탐색해 보고자한다. L'hypothèse que l'on proposera ici est que le dispositif du «médecin de la civilisation» monté par Deleuze en 1962 dans sa lecture de Nietzsche, loin de pouvoir être généralisé comme tel (comme si la suite de l'oeuvre n'en était que l'application différée ou même la continuation par d'autres moyens), n'y est effectivement agissant qu'à force de décaler l'énonciation deleuzienne par rapport à l'instance de la philosophie clinique qu'il définit. Et que pour cette raison, la figure du philosophe médecin de la (...) civilisation permet d'autant mieux de problématiser certaines difficultés que rencontre la tâche d'une symptomatologie des modes collectifs d'existence. À prendre cette tâche au sérieux, j'avancerai enfin que le déplacement du dispositif nietzschéen de part et d'autre de la rencontre avec Guattari et de L'Anti-OEdipe, trouve un point de résolution, ou en tout cas de cohérence et d'équilibre, dans la détermination d'une pratique analytique sui generis, celle-là même que Guattari nommera «schizo-analyse», et plus spécifiquement dans le concept d'agencement qui, de L'Anti-OEdipe à Mille plateaux, en supportera de plus en plus clairement les coordonnées propres. Over the past few years postmodernism has been gaining popularity. Because the works of writers such as Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Lacan, and Félix Guattari, for example, are now readily available to the English reader, a novel intellectual force is present that must be assessed (Hassan, 1985). Terms such as “mise en abîme”, “libido”, “schizo-analysis”, “undecidables”, and so forth must be explained and their relevance for social analysis deciphered. Furthermore, a conception of knowledge, a (...) research methodology, and an image of social order that are consistent with these somewhat odd ideas have been introduced, and thus must be evaluated with respect to their sociological importance. At first, due to the strange language that is adopted and the nature of the philosophy offered, postmodernism appears to the uninitiated as an attempt to subvert rational discussion. (shrink)

This article attempts to outline some critical aspects of the accelerationist movement. More specifically, it argues that light can be shed on key aspects of the political proposals of Williams and Srnicek by considering them from the perspective of the socio-political reflections of both Lacan and Deleuze and Guattari. Anti-Oedipus is one crucial starting point for accelerationist thinking, in terms of the concept of the ‘machinic’ and the explicit reference to ‘acceleration’, but it is equally obvious that Lacan has been (...) an important figure in the debate on the topic of ‘desire’. Likewise, and for the same reasons, accelerationism offers the potential for a fruitful reconsideration of Deleuzian philosophy, and of the difficult relationship between schizo- analysis and psycho-analysis. We argue that, in the light of accelerationism, the perspectives of Deleuze and Guattari and Lacan do converge, in particular around the theoretical articulation of the concept of the ‘political’. Accelerationism, as many critics have noted, has numerous implications in the field of subjectivity and often falls into a general plea for a strong neo-Enlightenment. Hence we will attempt to explicate these implications by attempting to read accelerationism via the psychoanalytic categories of jouissance and fantasy. This last category, as Stavrakakis has shown, is directly linked to the political category of ‘Utopia’, and therefore provides an adequate theoretical basis for such a psychoanalytic reading of accelerationism. Should accelerationism be considered the only way out of the socio-political constraints of neoliberalism today? However we approach this question, the argument pursued here is that the best starting points for a critique of accelerationism are the concepts of jouissance, the state/capital relationship, schizo-analysis and paranoid ways of functioning. Vocational education is generally structured around self-evaluation and the analysis of the practice of people in training, in order to favour their autonomy to face unprecedented situations. In this sense, a central position is given to experience in training which is observed and analysed each time it is possible. This approach that the institution - and its teachers - have to fundamentally rethink dual education. But rethinking dual education taking into account the experience of the teachers in training as (...) well as the situations they face, results in a questioning on various temporalities which are sometimes competing, in education. The meso time of the institution not always being in phase with the micro and very personal time of learning, this dysphasia can become a source of schizo-chronie, a discontinuity of which the rhythmicity, will naturally be different from one person to another. This research thus gives us an opportunity to understand more fully the rhythms of adult learning in the situation of on-the-job training in order to take this into consideration in future teaching and andragogic system. It is addressed to teachers designing dual educational systems and teachers involved in such trainings. More generally to any teacher or designer, even if he/she does not act in a situation of dual training, as dual training is not just a simple juxtaposition of place and/or time, but also a process of explicitation and mediatisation of professional practice. This paper charts the course of Deleuze and Foucault’s philosophical friendship or ‘block of becoming,’ showing the series of reciprocal determinations through which each philosopher’s thought develops in response to the other’s. Specifically, I will argue that the concept of transversal resistance is fundamental for the political thought of both Foucault and Deleuze, allowing us to reconstruct the basis and trajectory of a shared political theory. This concept emerges in Deleuze and Guattari’s schizo-politics, which advances the central aim of (...) Foucault’s earlier History of Madness while accounting for why Foucault’s particular politics of literary transgression had failed. The question then becomes one of conceiving and creating transversal forms of struggle that would respond to the problem of capitalism—a question which Deleuze poses to Foucault, and which prompts and orients the latter’s micro-political analytic of power. In turn, Foucault’s analysis of the anti-transversal operation and economico-political function of power provides the critical groundwork for a theory of transversal politics. Such an affirmative project takes form in Foucault’s late ethico-politics. (shrink)

Human resource management risks are due to the failure of employer organization to use relevant human resources reasonably and can result in tangible or intangible waste of human resources and even risks; therefore, constructing a practical early warning model of human resource management risk is extremely important for early risk prediction. The back propagation neural network is an information analysis and processing system formed by using the error back propagation algorithm to simulate the neural function and structure of the (...) human brain, which can handle complex and changeable things that do not have an obvious linear relationship between output results and input factors, so as to find the objective connection between the two. Based on the summary and analysis of previous research works, this article expounded the research status and significance of early warning for human resource management risks, elaborated the development background, current status, and future challenges of the BP neural network, introduced the method and principle of the BP neural network’s connection weight calculation and learning training, performed the risk inducement analysis, index system establishment, and network node selection of human resource management, constructed an early warning model of human resource management risk based on the BP neural network, conducted the risk warning model training and detection based on the BP neural network, and finally carried out a simulation and its result analysis. The study results show that the early warning model of human resource management risk based on the BP network is effective, and this trained and tested BP network risk warning model can be used to conduct early warning empirical research on human resource risks to prevent human resource risks, ensure enterprise’s benign operation, and at the same time play a role in supervision and promotion of market order rectification. Following the 1980 US Supreme Court decision to allow a patent on a living organism, debate has continued on the moral issues involved in biotechnology patents of many kinds and remains a contentious issue for those opposed to the use of biotechnology in industry and agriculture. Attitudes to patenting in the life sciences, including those of the research scientists themselves, are analysed. The relevance of morality to patent law is discussed here in an international context with particular reference to the (...) law of the European Patent Convention administered by the European Patent Office (EPO). The EPO has been the principal forum for opposition to such patents and the few cases under dispute in the EPO are reviewed, including patents for the onco-mouse, human relaxin gene, and the PGS herbicidally resistant plant (gmo). Morality provisions in the European Parliament and Council Directive 98/44/EC are also summarised. (shrink)

Francez has suggested that connexivity can be predicated of connectives other than the conditional, in particular conjunction and disjunction. Since connexivity is not any connection between antecedents and consequents—there might be other connections among them, such as relevance—, my question here is whether Francez’s conjunction and disjunction can properly be called ‘connexive’. I analyze three ways in which those connectives may somehow inherit connexivity from the conditional by standing in certain relations to it. I will show that Francez’s connectives fail (...) all these three ways, and that even other connectives obtained by following more closely Wansing’s method to get a connexive conditional, fail to be connexive as well. ​This contributed volume gives access to semiotic researches adopting a quantitative stance. European semiotics is traditionally based on immanent methodologies: meaning is seen as an autonomous dimension of human existence, whose laws can be investigated via purely qualitative analytical and reflexive analysis. Today, researches crossing disciplinary boundaries reveal the limitations of such an homogeneous practice. In particular, two families of quantitative research strategies can be identified. On the one hand, researchers wish to naturalize meaning, by making semiotic results interact (...) with those coming from Neurophysiological and psychological sciences. On the other hand, statistical and computational tools are adopted to work on linguistic and multimedia corpora. The book acts to put the two approaches into dialogue. (shrink)

During the course of this short article, I respond and connect with insights and issues raised by the Conversational Rollercoaster and its relationship with conversation analysis and the public science of talk. I constructively engage with the innovative thinking and practice associated with this initiative. Finally, I consider how this might enhance a potential drive to connect ethnomethodology and CA to additional public and collaborative practices and interventions in the digital age.

China, a lofty nation of 5000 years of uninterrupted civilization, world’s second largest economy, a nation of huge land mass and vibrant 1.3 billion populations with permanent seat in United Nation’s Security Council is steadfast on the road of peaceful development. Despite foreign aggressions, humiliations and occupations, Chinese nation never demonstrated revengeful attitude and instead adopted a submissive and non- confrontational approach to buy time for national cohesion, economic and infrastructure development and making the country stronger. The consistent and rapid (...) industrialization has enabled China to maintain over 9% growth rate which brought rich dividends for China and is now termed as economic super power and world’s manufacturing industry. This all can be attributed to consistent pragmatic foreign policy and unique blend of relevant to all and friend of all with mutual accommodation and peaceful coexistence. Pakistan and China are termed as Iron Brothers, therefore, Pakistan can accrue many dividends from rising status of China. This research article critically examines evolution of China’s foreign policy and draws relevance for Pakistan with suggested course of actions to make more dynamic and pragmatic foreign policy. It appears that we know surprisingly little about how judges frame linguistically the rationale behind their decisions and how such texts are structured. Using the concept of rhetorical moves, this paper adopts a genre-based approach to examine the rhetorical structure of legal justifications provided in the decisions of the Polish Constitutional Court. The goal of the study is to verify the claim that the way justifications are drafted is becoming more and more uniform and conventional. The results show that there (...) is a common core of rhetorical structure realized by means of recurrent functional segments of text. This paper proposes a prototypical move structure of a Constitutional Tribunal justification and it argues that that the way justifications are drafted are subject to very concrete, even if not explicitly stated constraints. We will present relational tools for analysing software systems, based on the Haskell datatype for relations defined in Chapter 5 of Doets and Van Eijck, The Haskell Road to Logic, Maths and Programming, King’s College Publications, London 2004 [DvE04]. The main purpose is to demonstrate some very concrete applications of abstract relations, and to make the point that functional programming is highly relevant to software engineering.

This study addresses the question of normative analysis of the value‐based aspects of nursing. In our perspective, values in science may be distinguished into (i) epistemic when related to the goals of truth and objectivity and (ii) non‐epistemic when related to social, cultural or political aspects. Furthermore, values can be called constitutive when necessary for a scientific enterprise, or contextual when contingently associated with science. Analysis of the roles of the various forms of values and models of knowledge (...) translation provides the ground to understand the specific role of values in nursing. A conceptual framework has been built to classify some of the classical perspectives on nursing knowledge and to examine the relationships between values and different forms of knowledge in nursing. It follows that adopting a normative perspective in the analysis of nursing knowledge provides key elements to identify its proper dimension. (shrink)

In order to do this, I will consider the conception of transcendental analysis that Marburg Neo-Kantianism powerfully introduced into Kant interpretation. I shall first develop a general model of transcendental analysis in the Marburg sense. I shall then ask whether this is a suitable model for the interpretation of the first Critique. Kant’s distinction between (...) the analytic and synthetic method in the Prolegomena seems to contradict this, given that it is a distinction between two different mathematical methods of demonstration. However, I shall argue that any such reading is incompatible with the Critique, and that transcendental analysis is indeed a legitimate interpretative model for understanding Kant. I shall finally turn to Strawson’s conception of descriptive metaphysics, which has strong affinities to Kant and the Marburg school. Most importantly, Strawson helps us to understand three significant aims at which transcendental analysis is directed. Finally, comparing transcendental analysis to dominant conceptions of analysis in philosophy, I shall argue that it constitutes a variety of philosophical analysis sui generis. (shrink)

Interpersonal relationship is one of the important factors affecting college students’ mental health. The relationship between interpersonal relationship and college students’ mental health has also become a large number of academic research topics. In order to explore whether there is a correlation between optimism and college students’ mental health, and if so, what kind of situation it presents. Based on literature review, mathematical statistics and questionnaire survey, this study optimized the iterative process of clustering algorithm. Extract valuable parts from a (...) large amount of precipitation of students’ psychological data, establish data models, and provide decision-making guidance for managers. The results show that there are significant differences between optimists and pessimists in optimistic factors and pessimistic factors. Optimists score significantly higher on optimistic factors than pessimists, while pessimists score significantly lower than pessimists. Conclusion optimism can significantly alleviate life stress and intervene psychological crisis. (shrink)
